Had a chance to get out to Loch Raven this weekend. Primarily fished two different locations: 1) open shorline to the main body of the reservoir 2) cove The water on the open shoreline was extremely muddy. I threw a fluke, jerkbait and jig - no luck, no even a nibble. The cove, however, was a different story. The water was much clearer and calmer. Ended up catching 3LM (2.5 pounder, 4 pounder and 1.5 pounder). The 4 pounder had black spots on her side from bedding. Good luck gents!

The Potmac is definitely warm enough to wade in. I was in Harpers Ferry this past weekend and we got to do a little fishing. Between my girlfriend and I, we cought 18 smallies. They were all rather small but it was still a blast!

Hey, quick question. Im not sure if i read this wrong or not but are you allowed to shore fish at Loch Raven? Yes you can however, a freshwater liscense is required.

Roland Matrin's Hellicopter Lure....saw it on TV and received the kit as a gift. Pretty cool action, especially on top water but only had one bass strike it. Granted, I didn't use the lure often, it just seemed useless. :-?

This takes place at the fire dept? When are the dates, this weekend?

Fish MD, Yeah, I agree completely with Feather Island at Loch Raven. As a matter of fact, the only smallie I've caught out of Raven came from right around Feather Island. I think I will try Liberty Reservoir this summer. I've fished there before but have only caught lmb. I do not have a boat for the reservoirs but my friend does and I plan on fishing with him this summer, so if you wouldn't mind sending my those coordinates I'd really appreciate it! Thanks

Hey everybody, I'm new to the board so I figured I would introduce myself. I'm from Maryland and primarily fish Loch Raven Reservoir. Been fishing the reservoir seriously for about the last six years and I'm hoping to chat with others on here that are fishing the same area. Jan

Thanks for the welcome guys. I've never caught a Walleye so that should be interesting. I was hoping Redman would be full of smallmouths. I fish Loch Raven Reservoir regularly and the smallies are pretty scarce compared to the largemouths, so I was hoping to find somewhere local where they would be more plentiful. Do you know of any places in that area that are easily fished from shore that produce a good number of smallies?

Hey guys, I'm new to the board but was just wondering if anyone is fishing Lake Redman. I'm from Maryland but drive by Redman occasionaly. If you are catching fish out of Redman, what kind? I plan on fishing it this spring but didn't know what to target. TIA for any input.

The weather here as been in the 60's also and i've been successful using suspending crank baits or a jig-n-pig. However, i primarily fish a clear water reservoir. Good luck! Jan
