  1. yes , I throw spinnerbaits and chatterbaits with it.
  2. at my local shop it's $8 or $9 for a 4 oz bottle , same price online. kvd comes in 4 oz , 16 oz and 1 gallon. you could really save some money if you buy a gallon of kvd , although I have no idea what the shelf life is..
  3. I have 3 brakes on and 2.5 on the dial. Have not flushed the stock bearings yet. I hope the new curado is just like it but , holds more line and maybe a tad smoother (like the E series).
  4. I understand you can buy 1 gallon of kvd for $75. But , 32 oz of 303 for $23 vs 16 oz of kvd for $20. I'd be willing bet good money it's the same stuff.
  5. what does that prove , other than it will burn ? kvd works the same as 303 Aerospace Protectant , only 303 is 32 oz for $23.
  6. I use reel magic , cheap and easy to get.
  7. I use this. About $16 for a big tub off the auction site.
  8. I picked up a citica i the other day for $128 out the door. installed 5 after market bearings , fishes just like my curados.
  9. I fish 12 lb for cranks and traps..just recently bought silver thread fluorocarbon and love it , just a few dollars more.
  10. you're. Walker , try 3 brakes on and then adjust the side plate.
  11. I use penn grease or cal's grease , tg's yellow rocket fuel for bearings.
  12. Exactly. Use backing or whatever it takes to get it there. I use the reel the way it was intended to be used by the manufacture.
  13. gears are brass and it will hold up to cranking.
  14. my 70 came with a defective gear set , once i replaced it the smoothness was there.
  15. I have both..The drag is way better on the 70 , it comes in a higher gear ratio. and parts will be available farther down the road for the 70. But , I like simplicity of the old style brakes on the 50, and the fact that it was made in Japan.
  16. look for a Symetre FL on sale and a 7' medium calico jack. perfect for inshore and freshwater.
  17. nothing wrong with seaguar blue label leader material.
  18. At that price range I'd go out on a limb and say , no.
  19. If the eye of the hook has a gap on it , it could be cutting it there.
  20. I'm currently liking Domin8 for frogs and swimbaits...J-Braid 65 # for flip/punch.
  21. GL3 783c mbr - spooks and poppers.
  22. Last trip to the store I checked them out ,I saw a few on the rack that were as crooked as a dog's hind leg. You better check them real good before you walk out with one.
  23. I have 65 lb on my flipping stick and punch rod , really like it. if you only use 50 yards at a time with mono backing , that's enough for 3 reels...not bad for $15 !!
