  1. I don't see a forum "help section" , sorry if it's in the wrong section. Can somebody please help me disable this email I get every time I login ? It's on the same computer from the same location. Thanks
  2. It's very good line..smaller diameter than some other copolymers out there. For instance I think 15 lb is approx. .013 " , 20 lb is .015"
  3. take a metric ruler or digital caliper and measure them. they aren't hard to take out. if you're gonna get new ones you need to learn how to do it anyways. tight lines.
  4. The MB I have didn't stay smooth as long as my Pro G. I'm gonna say the best $100 reel is the Tatula Ct or Fuego CT off ebay but , I bought a Tatula Ct Type R for less than $120 on ebay. Better reel than the standard CT imo , better spool bearings and a tad lighter.
  5. I bought mine from digitaka , paid with paypal. Saved about $40 , it took one week and couple of days to get it. Yeah , I'd return it and tell them to send you another one.
  6. I've been using corrosion block reelfast on bearings, it's really thin and fast , plus it protects. Picked it up a rural king for $3.
  7. I'd rule out any reels that have a plastic or graphite frame.
  8. I use 50# for buzz frogs and hollow body frogs.
  9. The new bps reels are impressive. Same as a lew's/doyo oem.
  10. Most all of my reels come off ebay. Search USA only , "buy it now" , look for 99% good feedback or better. The only reels I don't get from ebay are the JDM reels , for those I'll order from digitaka or Japan lure shop.
  11. Canoeman loop knot , it's the only one I use. I've caught everything from 120 lb tarpon to gag grouper on it , so I know it holds no matter what.
  12. If you get a ike rod check it for defects before you walk out with it..The ones a saw at the local bps were as crooked as a dog's hind leg...I have never see that in a SC.
  13. intended to be saltwater reel reviews. nothing more nothing less. he does good work.
  14. Flush the spool bearings or swap the spool bearings on the CT , huge difference.
  15. My reply was aimed at the op and his spinning set up. I'm not talking about somebody with a baitcaster and a 6' rod whipping a spinnerbait down the bank..
  16. I think if you try , you will find that you can cast just fine with 18"-24" of line hanging off the tip.
  17. I'll fish all day with the same uni to uni knot. But , I never throw my knot through my guides.
  18. I have two lamiglas excel rods with the hook keeper in that position , don't like it one bit..
  19. I saw these at the tackle shop today , very light and crisp...I would buy one but , I'm not crazy about the placement of the hook keeper. The 7'6 mh exage felt a hair lighter than the 7'6 mh dobyns fury.
  20. it's online and in stores. check the p-line website and tackle warehouse. no special coupons needed.
  21. p-line tactical fluorocarbon is running a "buy 1 get 1 for free" deal right now.
  22. Zillion SV TW 7:3:1 / Hammer 7 ' Heavy / 18 lb sunline sniper- worm/jig rod.
  23. I'm not "whipping it" by any means (more like what bassman quoted hank parker)...I have the reel paired with a 6 ft short grip pro qualifier rod , med action and 17 lb sufix. These reels are easy to adjust , it's not rocket science.
  24. A friend of mine has 20 or 30 of those old shimano made lew's. He owned a tackle shop for 35 years and tournament fished them hard until the calcutta 50's and 100's came out... I had some of the V-spools growing up.
