  1. p line cx or silver thread AN40.
  2. For the most part , in my experiences the trilene knot only works well on trilene lines. Even then I won't use it for heavy duty applications.. Palomar knot everything else.
  3. P line , what ? If you don't have a nick in one of your guides , probably just a bad spool of line or a bad area in the spool.
  4. Digitaka SCORPION MGL $196 usd shipped. They are waiting on stock. SLX MGL $166 , same status as above.
  5. If you're taking a spinning rod , 15 lb braid with a 15lb or 20 lb , 18" mono leader tied uni/uni will work. Senkos (I like junebug or something similar), texas rigged on a 3/0 ewg , no weight , or 1/8 oz tungsten bullet weight. A minimalist approach works just as good as lugging around more gear than necessary , especially when bank fishing. Enjoy.
  6. Cool , that's the original tatula , aluminum frame aluminum side plate , gear side.
  7. Does it look like the top one or bottom one ? Regardless still a good deal.
  8. I believe he was asking FishDewd , which Tatula he picked up for $79.
  9. The last one I ordered from digitaka it took about 9 days. They wait 3 days before it ships idk why. But those days are worth it for the money you save.
  10. I had a chronarch mgl , still have a met mgl. The chronarch is no metanium as far as longevity goes. Like the post above states , met mgl below $300 from japan.
  11. Silver Thread AN40 17 lb is what I use for worm/jig. 3000 yard spool is $40.
  12. I use mine in the salt all of the time , no problems. The only oil I use in the bearings for my saltwater reels is Corrosion X reelx oil. If you take the cast control knob off on that reel you can actually get oil on that gear side spool shaft bearing.
  13. I see offshore boats loaded to the hilt with stellas and and saltigas all of the time. Take a 42' contender with a crew of doctors and lawyers and such , they fish billfish tournaments with heavy payouts , money is no object and tackle can not fail.
  14. The reel cast just fine out of the box. I wouldn't upgrade until one goes bad. "If it ain't broke don't fix it" analogy. Rem oil will speed up any spool bearing , if that's what you're looking for.
  15. Metanium all day everyday. I bought a Chronarch MGL , fished it everyday after work for 2 months , it didn't stay butter smooth long. Just not a fan of graphite framed reels , I don't care what their marketing claims. Check out Digitaka , you can pick up a Metanium MGL for under $300.
  16. You don't enjoy catching fish that pull drag ? That's a new one on me...
  17. The chronarch mgl is no good for salt , even brackish. That's why they made the chronarch G. I had the chronarch mgl , honestly I didn't see where it casted any better than a curado 70 or curado k.
  18. Or a magic eraser. I was told by shimano at icast this slx replaces the casitas and caenan.
  19. This. Ish's frog rod and a zillion is where I'd start looking too. Amazing combo.
  20. there's no doubt about it..would like to have seen the 2nd bearing on that main shaft though. either way. with the slx rods it will make a nice combo. i'm sure they will sell plenty.
  21. slx is the size of a curado 70 , minus the shallow spool.
  22. not quite. I saw it at icast Wednesday..pretty cool , feels really small , pretty smooth.. But , with only 3+1 bearings that means there is a bushing somewhere on that main shaft instead of two bearings unlike every other $99 reel out there. You also don't get x-ship or cross cut carbon fiber drag washers , it sports the VBS style brakes like found on the old curado e. If you want a citica , buy a citica , the slx is not it's replacement . (it replaces the casitas and caenan) The rep told me it's aimed at the younger market.
