  1. I like a 7'6 for 6XD's. Mojo 7'6 medium heavy mod fast , is a nice rod. The 7'4 rod you looked at would be a nice lipless rod.
  2. Distance will be the same , I'd go with the 150 , it has a aluminum side plate handle side. 10 lb mono.
  3. A frog rod is not the same rod you want to throw topwater baits with trebles on. A frog rod can double as a paddle tail swimbait rod or swim jig rod. Tatula CT sells for less than $100 on ebay. A Tatula 7'4 Frog rod sells for $169. I'd highly recommend both. 50 lb braid. If you're not a daiwa fan , I'd suggest a Curado K and a St.Croix Bass X 7'4 Heavy.
  4. You will find both are the same size. Difference being the 4194 is a S-ARB bearing. It's also wise to measure all the way across the bearing in the middle of the caliper , not the side of the bearing with the tips of the caliper. Tight lines.
  5. cheaper to order 10. idk if we can post ebay links but , here goes. https://www.ebay.com/itm/TRB-RC-10-5x9x3mm-Precision-Stainless-Steel-Ball-Bearings-Fishing-Reels/162539314151?hash=item25d8191be7:g:HzIAAOSwUDZcge~D:sc:USPSFirstClass!33801!US!-1
  6. 100% sure it will fit. I have a slx xt , that is the part # given ( BNT0031) in the schematic for the drive shaft bearing that sits in the frame. $5.98 for a stainless one. free shipping, ebay seller trbrcbearing . BNT 4194 is a Shimano ARB bearing
  7. The bearing you need is BNT0031 , it's a 5x9x3 mm. I'd recommend stainless steel , as moisture can sometimes get to that bearing. You won't need a special tool , just a small screw driver set or pick to remove the c-clip on the bushing.
  8. Shorter rods are deadly accurate , if that's what you're after. If you are running down the bank , they are very easy to fish. Muse 6'5 heavy and the Jason Christie Cara T7 6'11 heavy , are a couple worth considering. For fishing mats and heavy vegetation where bombing long cast are require , 7'3 heavy is what I use.
  9. I'd go with the slx , aluminum frame , vs graphite on the lew's.
  10. For braid , Daiwa J braid 4x at walmart , under $10. I like it better than regular Power pro.
  11. I like sufix siege. You can buy it in bulk (3000 yard spools) on amazon.
  12. This is true , loosening spool tension knob on these new shimanos helps get the side plate on and off easier.
  13. I'm thinking something similar to the SLX XT. We'll see , come July. I'll be at icast that first day (Wednesday). I'll take pics of whatever is new.
  14. So , y'all are seeing gear damage, fishing peacocks down there ? thanks
  15. Loosen up your cast control knob to alleviate that problem.
  16. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Sufix Siege works very well , good enough to where I'm not looking for "other" sufix lines.
  17. One would think they would replace the citica with a x-ship reel , if they were gonna continue to offer a citica.
  18. I think it has a bearing supported main shaft as well. 4+1 instead of 3+1. Seems like a deal imo.
  19. I use Silver Thread a lot. I usually don't treat it with anything.
  20. I had a avid inshore that the reel seat became loose on. They exchanged it for a new one , with the $20 deal. No complaints here.
  21. That monstrosity will never get a dime from me..and I tarpon fish , even with 200 lb fish I still don't need it. People tend to forget the "pros" are paid to use the products you see them use.
  22. For $99 tatula ct , all day. With the bushings that support the main shaft on the slx , it just doesn't spin as freely as the tatula reels. You can buy bearings for the slx but , by the time you've done all of that , you could have bought the curado k off one of the auction sites for what you paid for extra bearings. Lew's - are oem reels , not something I'd consider but , to each his own.
  23. One of each , I use a 7'3 heavy for long cast , and a 6'11 heavy for close quarters. Kinda been eyeballing that 6'5 heavy muse rod , also.
