  1. Yep and especially in Alabama..I tie on a bandit when I fish up there
  2. I fished with the originator of that a couple times, that stuff was unbelievably effective. I don't think it's as effective as JJs, though. Tell me about this JJ's ? Is that Jack's Juice ?
  3. I'm a believer in garlic on soft plastics. Right now I'm using the Yum LPT stuff works. Bass hold on to it forever..There use to be this stuff back in the day called Lock Jaw in garlic scent that stuff was the bomb. Haven't see that around in years it was actually a oil, stayed on the bait for a long time.
  4. I saw something similar..
  5. Damiki Dark Angel C701MH anybody on here using this rod for T.Rigs ? If so how do you like it ?
  6. Alot of that was filmed in the Rainbow River ,FL where Doug Hannon (The Bass Professor ) spent alot of time under water he also fished springs and spring runs around the Ocala National Forest,FL..Some of those where commercials from the 80's..Other footage was from Glen Lau videos. (yellow single blade spinner was the "snagless sally") He use to claim that the world record bass was in the Rainbow River.People don't give him much credit these days..But alot of what we know about big bass today was from Doug and Glen's studies.
  7. Keep it in a dresser draw or something similar..I'm using a spool of big game I know it was bought in 2002..Its just as good as the new spools I have.Somebody said why risk it ? I say why throw it away, if there's nothing wrong with it ?
  8. Lew's where made by a few different companies in there heyday. Browning is just one of 4 manufacturers that built Lew's reels. Shimano made the first ones for Lew Childre. Next Ryobi built the reels for Lew. After he was killed in an accident the Childre family ultimately sold the company to Browning...Browning was then purchased by Zebco and Zebco made the Lew's reels for a while.. Buddy of mine has quite a few of the old shimano lew's reels in his collection.I used them back in the day as did my Father. They where top of the line back in the day.
  9. Power Pro Vs Daiwa Samurai Braid. Daiwa Samurai Braid breaking below labeled strength ? Do you have anything to contribute to that conversation ? Dyneema and Spectra are the same product. It depends on who makes it. Dyneema is a registered trademark of Royal DSM (The Netherlands). Dyneema was invented by DSM in 1979. It has been in commercial production since 1990 at a plant in Heerlen, the Netherlands. In East Asia, DSM has a cooperation agreement with Toyobo for commercial production in Japan. In the United States, DSM has a production facility in Greenville, North Carolina, which is the largest production facility in the United States for UHMWPE fiber.[4] Honeywell developed a product identical in chemical structure, which is sold under the brand name Spectra. Though the production details are somewhat different, the resulting materials are comparable in properties.[5] Other trade names for powdered or consolidated UHMWPE (polyethylene) materials include TIVAR by Quadrant EPP, Polystone-M by Röchling Engineering Plastics, Tensylon by Integrated Textile Systems, GARDUR by Garland Manufacturing, GUR by Ticona, and UTEC by Braskem. A major producer of finished Dyneema/Spectra in the U.S. is Western Filament. They sell finished product in a variety of colors to 500# test in resale configurations and even heavier for commercial uses. They can be reached at http://www.westernfilament.com
  10. Daiwa Samurai Braid. Guaranteed to break below it's rated strength.Read all of the saltwater forums and you will see for yourself. Not that a bass angler would ever come close to breaking braid anyhow, unless it was some freak mishap.Oudated braid ? Give me a break.Rest assure there's more fish caught on power pro than any other braid.
  11. Are these made by Pflueger ?
  12. Make a loop with a three turn surgeons knot , then with your doubled braid, tie a uni to uni.
  13. I bought some, still like Jerry Brown solid core the best.
  14. I have five 4600C3's from the 90's...Years ago when I quit using Lew's BB reels I bought ABU 4600C3 to replace them. The ratio is 5:3:1 and holds 115 yards of #14.Just recently quit using these bought shimano curados and citica's.Figure if I hold onto the Abu's they will be worth something one day.
  15. I guess that is a good point, I might run into some bull reds or a nice size shark. I really like the Stradics but they are spendy. But I think I can get them for significantly cheaper 8-) Our area for Real Estate is very dependant on where you live in the county. Saros 3000F.. I have caught everything from small bass to 80lb tarpon on it , a few wraps of mono backing and fill the rest up with #15 power pro. The rod I use is a St.Croix TIS76MF.
  16. Do you have anything on Sufix Elite ?
  17. Happy Birthday !! You picked up a nice rod and reel. But..The guy talking about the TFO rods has no idea lol. Those rods are made in Korea. With Gary Loomis name on them. I wouldn't be comparing them to a G.Loomis.
  18. Same here nothing more than #15 on my small spinners.I can whip a 40" redfish pretty darn quick with #15 power pro. Some mono backing and a 150 yards is what I use inshore and freshwater.
  19. Winner Winner chickien dinner , if your stripping line off 2' at a time and you have pulled off 30 yards of line its time respool anyways.I really don't what to say ,guess this is first time I have heard someone say that a citica 200E is not sufficient for bass fishing... ;D
  20. I wet a piece of napkin, then make sure the line is coming off the top of the line spool, grip tight with the napkin and start reeling.I only re-spool a little more than 1/2 of the spool tie a uni/uni to the backing.
  21. How much more line do you need? Most of us pre-fill our spools 1/3-1/2 way with junk to save line costs since you don't use anywhere close to a full spool. Are you fishing for tarpon? lol, right...
  22. Tri-Shear Mini Line Cutter is what I use. Browing Fishing Pliers (from BPS) work also and are nice to have. Most saltwater guys have some kind of pliers with tungsten cutters for leaders and braids.
  23. Same price as the crucial , I'll take the crucial all day over the micro.
  24. mmmm....I'll pass.
  25. FSR904X IMX Curado 200E5 Big Game #30
