  1. Lew's Tournament Pro, or take advantage of the Curado and Citica mark downs.
  2. You should always check your line after each fish caught or hooked... If your tying the palomar correctly I doubt its pulling out.
  3. Its easier for them to say thats a monster , and throw it back in the drink... Watched Zona last night ,every fish he catches over 2 pounds is a HOG....
  4. I prefer the 3000 shimanos over the 2500 for fresh and saltwater , holds more line and the grips are bigger (not that you need the extra line bass fishing but for saltwater is comes in handy)..I have never heard of a 3000 handling braid better than a 2500...And I know of a lot of guys that use both for inshore saltwater fishing..
  5. #30 braid on a spinning rod is where you'll loose most of your distance ,I can whip a 40" bull redfish into submission in a matter of minutes with a Saros 3000 filled with #10 power pro..A St.Croix TIS76MF and a Saros 3000 filled with #10 braid and I can throw a 3/8oz MirroDine XL out of sight..Long rods with a parabolic action and thin briad = distance for med sized set ups.
  6. My first thought was citrus shad.
  7. I wouldn't worry about it, its not like your fishing for a drag burning yellowfin tuna.
  8. About 9 pounds would have been more before she spawned out.
  9. 1. frogs (ish phat frog or stanley ribbit) 2. Senko (Yamamoto 5") 3. Rattle Trap (blue back/chrome/orange belly)
  10. The Pro Braid has a sticky residue on it , I threw wind knots on my curado 200e7 when throwing into a slight breeze.. Although I did catch a pig on it (24 inches) , I took it off and threw it in the garbage, spooled back up with the power pro I had taken off.
  11. lol welcome to last week !!
  12. Here's the problem with Dobyns rods ,especially in the south , the lack of Dobyns dealers has people guessing on which rod to buy ,there's just not very many Dobyn's dealers in the deep south FL, GA, AL..Your buying sight unseen. So basically you order one ,if its not what you thought it was gonna be, send it back for the other..Some people's idea of the "perfect rod" , is a broom stick to others.Unless I'm flippin, personally I like to fish with a rod that has somewhat of a parabolic bend to it , to launch my bait into the next county, accurately .Not bashing these rods , there fine rods ,but the lack of actual tackle shops that carry Dobyns rods in this part of the country is frustrating...Is it like this where you live ?
  13. Texas tackle split ring pliers work like a charm.
  14. My fault lol , I was looking at the Savy rods..
  15. Throwing a 1/8th oz t.rig with a 703c sounds about right. Where are you seeing $192 shipped ? You mean $129 right ?
  16. magic eraser = grocery store cork sealer = mudhole rod building supply or anglers workshop
  17. Makes sense ,it needed a update.Looks like septon grips just like the curado.
  18. There's quite a few saltwater guys that use Momoi line down here.
  19. nobody has used Sunline braid ?
  20. Old thread ,anyways. I was reading that Dean Rojas uses this line , I can't find the diameters on the Sunline FX2 anywhere, does someone know what they are ? Has anyone on here done a review on the line ?
  21. Neither..Sports Authority or Dick's. Most freshwater guys have never heard of redbone rods , or star rods. I know quite a few people that fish redbone rods here inshore and offshore. Star rods use to be made in U.S.A. they sold out to Sea Striker and are made in China, there still decent rods from what I have heard , I have one Star rod its a 6' 6" MH spin made in U.S.A . I use it for jigging pompano and flounder, very nice rod.
  22. I have a handheld garmin 60csx , it seems to be spot on with the hunting (especially early bow season before the game gets pressured hard) and spot on with fishing..But I never limit my hunting and fishing to just those times.I go when I feel like going.
  23. I bought some today at Dick's , it was on sale $14.99 marked down to $7.00 figured for $7 its worth a try.
  24. Curado on the Compre will be more than enough..You might think that the MH is too much.Check them out in person if possible.
