  1. I didn't know Roger Clemens was into bass fishing. Great fish.
  2. I suggest the next time your husband has a question for the forum that you post it for him. My guess is that after 3 or 4 responses you probably got a feeling for what to do and the rest answered because you're a woman. So note to self: if you want answers to posts have a pic of a woman and responses will flood in. Good luck with your hook sets!
  3. Successful MN bass opener despite 30mph winds. Caught 4 fish with the biggest being a 19in. Boat control was near impossible today and could not fish some of my favorite spots because of the wind, but had a fun day. Just thankful I can finally fish for those bass.
  4. JCrzy, Like MNGoerge said the season is to protect bass during the spawn. With the long cool spring we have had here we will get to fish the spawn this year. No, lakes are not shut off, the walleye opener was two weeks ago. I am all for protecting the bass resource we have in MN, but I do wish they would allow C+R before now.
  5. I know a lot of you on this great forum have been out bass fishing many times and good for you. Every story I read about you guys catching bass has made me a little envious but, the MN opener is tomorrow so I am like a kid at Christmas. I get to finally enjoy what God gave me a passion for and that is fishing for bass. Wish me safety and a good time. Thanks
  6. If I were going on my honeymoon I would have other things on my mind other than fishing. She must be a great "catch" if she lets you take the rods along because I don't think you will be able to hide rods and tackle in your back pocket. IF she lets you take them along do it. Sheridan has trout and yes, largemouth.
  7. If you like to fish shallow this can be a great time to find numbers of bass. Rising water creates new shallow water for fish to feed and flats for them to roam. If your lake has fallen trees and grassy shores, bass will establish themselves around these new areas if water overtakes them. If you like fishing offshore structure many of the fish already spawned will continue to use humps, points, channels, etc. year after year. Deep bass don't care if water rises or falls, they will congregate around the same areas annually after the spawn. Shallow bass will take advantage of new areas. If water is cooling off from where it has been use the same lures as you were before just slow down.
  8. Great interview Glenn. You brought out how Gerald really is: down-to-earth bass fisherman who has a passion for the outdoors.
  9. Was that beauty released?
  10. Worst fishing conditions: 1) Not fishing 2) Reading about you guys who can at least fish now and complain about it.
  11. Not going to get into the personal info, but have had a very difficult last 3 yrs. I used to post before, but I have moved 5 times in those 3 yrs and just recently signed up again under a new name so as posts go I look like a newbie. I think bass fisherman and all outdoorsmen need to stick together and debate on more important issues than on posts. Just because someone is a newbie doesn't mean they are not knowlegeable and, some people just don't want to post. I have read some posts from some who have been posting a long time and some make me laugh as to how hard they try to sound like they know it all.
  12. Drop offs outside of spawning flats.
  13. Hey Rocknfish, Congrats on the catch! And just be thankful you can at least fish for bass now. Here in Minn. bass season does not open until May 24.
  14. Congrats. Be thankful you can go out now. Still have 15" of ice here!
  15. Usually it's "There's another one."
  16. Er, some states have seasons. Here in MN bass season does not open until the end of May so if I understand your post right it is impossible to achieve by April 30.
