  1. Anyone have any experience with the Fish Cat 4 or the Deluxe version of the Fish Cat 4 float tube? I have a 12' aluminum all setup to fish lakes, but sometimes just don't want to take it out and want to be able to pack all my gear in a sedan, rather then pull out the big SUV to tow the boat around....Would like to have a small float tube to get out on lakes when I don't want to take the boat out. The Fish Cat 4 seems like a great tube and I only hear positive things about it. But I figured I'd check here. I would only be using it on small lakes, no more then a hundred acres or so, and on lakes with no gas motors allowed. Is the Fish Cat 4 a good tube? Thanks...
  2. "Got one" "There's one" "Fish On!"
  3. Suction cups work well enough. I've never had them fall off. Fish Eagle 245 DS is what I have. I would rather spend more and get a nice humminbird unit..I can't remember their portable model, but it's slick and around $250
  4. Crankbaits work for me in these instances. I lost a lot of jigs and what not bumping em through the rocks...So I tried Cranks and they work great...Just make sure they aren't digging the bottom of the rocks and your good. But don't be using cranks that don't get anywhere near hte bottom... Small spinnerbaits rolled real slow off the top of rocks also puts out the smallies for me....
  5. Are they any good? I'll be going through Cabelas to get a float tube/inflatable boat (not sure which yet) and I see these hard bait kits for like $15 for 6 baits. I like the Gravedigger set Pass on them or pick em up? I'm also looking at the jointed Rad shad (Jointed Shad Rap knockoff)
  6. I do a ton of fishing for trout with a spinning setup. I have tons of them, from 5'6" UL up to 7'6" Medium rods... Most of my rods are about 6' when I'm trolling, and like to move up to 6'6" or 7' when I have to do some casting, cause that extra length helps with casting distance. I like most of my rods to be light or Medium light action. I use some medium action 7' Rods when I'm plunking powerbait on an egg weight setup... I love trolling and really like using all sorts of spinners, spoons and plugs. I love using F4 Flatfish and trolling them about as slow as I can get away with...Sure catches some nice fish too, not to mention a good quantity. I could go on for a while, so if you have questions, feel free to ask them to me or PM me...
  7. I'm new to the site and do a lot of fishing for bass, trout, and salmon up in my home state of Washington. At the present time, I'm going to college in the San Jose area and am looking to do some fishing at the nearby lakes/reservoirs in the area. I have searched through Google Earth/Maps and have looked at all the lakes/reservoirs that are in my area. I'm just looking for some advice/direction...In general. I'm back to learning bass fishing cause I can only imagine that bass fishing down here is a real different ballgame then in Washington. So if anyone has any directions for me as to where I should be headed and what I should be using, it would be much appreciated. I'm looking to do a lot of bass fishing here during the rest of my 3+ years of college so I'd really appreciate some tips/advice from you all... -Kafelafish
  8. Bellevue is hometown for me. Do spend a lot of time up at Whidbey Island (have a waterfront cabin there, so I do a lot of salmon fishing there, as well as some trout fishing on those lakes on the island) Currently I'm in the San Jose region for college. Looking forward to having a car next year and finding some lakes/reservoirs that hold some big bass...
  9. Hello all, I know a few members here already because of another forum I am an active poster on...Anyways, I always liked the articles on this site and some members on the other forum I'm on (Washingtonlakes.com) told me this was a good one to join too...So here I am, giving you all my "first post..." Anyways, curious to see if we have any other bassers from the western side of Washington? I currently go to school in northern California so I'll be using the knowledge and people on this site to help me learn some things about bassing down here....I do not have a car or any tackle this year, but next fall when I return to school I'll be with a car and some tackle for sure, so I'll look forward to learning a thing or two on this forum... -Kafelafish...
