  1. @Tim Kelly Get a Van Staal ! 😎 A-Jay
  2. Not passing judgment. But the comments on Candy Randy's YT video are just classic and indicative of the current state of mind of so many derby fans. 👌 A-Jay
  3. It's the morning of '3's'. 3 degrees below zero 3 layers of polar fleece 3 feet of show 3 tanks of gas and 3 hours to get it done. Good Times by 3 . . . . . Ready . . . . . Go ! A-Jay
  4. With what was still on the ground from the last record breaking dumping, we're approaching 30 inches and it's still coming down. The below zero wind chill is particularly fun. Forecast to let up overnight meaning I will be a snow clearing fool for most of the day tomorrow. Good Times ~ Well mostly anyway . . . . https://www.facebook.com/reel/1313742436647743
  5. I found this in FAQ. Why does it say "Fry” or “Minnow" under my name? Those names are referring to the number of posts you've made on the forums. It breaks down like this: 0-10 = Fry 11-124 = Minnow 125-249 = Dink 250-499 = Short Fish 500-999 = Keeper 1000-1999 = Kicker 2000-3999 = Big 'un 4000-7999 = Hawg 8000+ = Double Digit These are simply references for you to help identify how often a member posts messages. They are NOT status symbols. Frivolous posts designed to add to one's post count will be removed. Not sure this is applicable to your inquiry. You might need to directly supplement @Glenn with cold hard cash. A-Jay
  6. Workout Day 1 on this very snowy Thursday. As a friendly reminder and unless otherwise noted, these clips usually only include working sets: which are my heaviest sets (relative term). Which means before what is seen here, I have already done AT Least one warm up sets of each movement. (More when performing heavy compound movements) Those are always done with light then progressively heavier weight and higher reps. Super important IMO to get some blood flowing through the area I am targeting. Especially being a Senior Citizen and all. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  7. I am in the process of converting the remaining split grip rods I fish into what I'm going to call a "Hybrid Full Grip" - both spinning & casting rods are getting the treatment. I've had this 'idea' bouncing around in my head for a while now but was somewhat hesitant to make it happen. Initially I was just going to re-home many of these sticks, but there are way too many memories wrapped up in them at this point so I went to plan B. Finally took the plunge, purchased 'the supplies' and went to work. I'm about half way through the 10 or so rods that need it and it's coming out a bit better than I actually expected, which rarely happens. More to follow Winter project #26 A-Jay
  8. We are getting Bombed ~ Again ! ADDITIONAL amounts of 8-12” are in store for parts of northern Michigan today which is a polite way of saying right on A-Jay's house. Including the potential for additional 18”+ possible by Friday morning. I'll be hiding in the basement until it's over. The video from this one should be pretty wild A-Jay
  9. I order from Cabelas off & on. Really Love Their RedHead Branded Clothing. Guidewear's not to shabby either. And they do offer a military discount. Which I appreciate. A-Jay
  10. This fish was hooked outside the mouth, top of her face actually. After that I took my time, relied on years of experience fighting & landing Pelagic fish much bigger than this from the Gulf Stream, AND I got supremely lucky. Got the whole thing on video. First part of the clip is "the story". Second part is the actual landing of the fish. btw - I landed a pretty beefy musky this past Sept on a chatterbait fishing 15 lb Tatsu and she had totally choked the bait. Again I got lucky. Is it spring yet ? A-Jay
  11. Perhaps 70-75 % - which looking ahead, was a good thing. Had some rain and then/now a freeze so we're walking on the moon out back. Micro Spikes are your friend. Especially on the roof ! https://kahtoola.com/traction/microspikes-footwear-traction/?srsltid=AfmBOopuEAm8qkRH0m4O530yDMRv5EpitGnRRFkZ96L87KWS5ol59S8u A-Jay
  12. This may be in my future - again. 😲 A-Jay
  13. The fun and much needed snow continues up here in the north woods ~ Latest Local forecast: Lake effect snow is set to intensify late this afternoon through Thursday, bringing heavy snowfall, snow-covered roads, and gusty winds of 25 to 30+ mph. This will create possible whiteout conditions and hazardous travel, especially during this evening and Thursday morning’s commutes. Total snow accumulation in the northwest snowbelts are expected to be 8-12 inches, with some areas possibly exceeding 24 inches by Thursday evening. Come at me Bro ~ A-Jay
  14. ~ Past few seasons I’ve developed a bit of a love / hate relationship with the Strike King Short Arm Titanium rig. I had so much success with, but it was breaking apart while fighting picture worthy brown bass. Total Bummer. So I have been sort of gone back to the drawing board looking for a rig that would get bites and stay together to actually land the fish. At the time of this posting, I am still looking. I fished a couple of different Hog Farmer rigs south of the border this past fall. They are Very Stout and handled green bass up to 8 lbs. However I have some concerns that they may be over kill for my local needs. Good one ~ The A-Rig: G Funk Baits Bama Rig with Strike King Rage Tail Swimmer, Keitech Swing Impact FAT and / or Strike King KVD Swim N Shiner Mounted on Dobyns Light Hook Swimbait Head or Dirty Jigs Tactical Bassin' Finesse Swimbait Jig Heads or VMC Boxer Jig Head – usually all 1/8 oz. Baits are usually AYU and less than 4.75 inches. https://youtu.be/pKLeeC4612o?feature=shared&t=223 A-Jay
  15. I am an A-Rig angler and have been throwing a couple of different versions for smallmouth bass with varying levels of success for a few years now. On 5 hook baits, the middle and bottom 2 baits are by far the most targeted. On a 4 bait spread, where all the baits are seemingly on the same plane, it's still the bottom 2 bait that get bites. Not even sure I've ever caught a fish on the top two baits on any rig. So there's that. A-Jay
  16. No doubt ~ Not to mention all boat gas money I'm not spending. A-Jay
  17. Completed Workout Day 5 here. I'm just humming along right now. Eat, Sleep , Train, Off Day; Rinse & Repeat. I like it ! #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  18. I like Big Game as well. It's been the standard for me when it comes to 'comparing' all other nylon lines. However, while I do prefer Tatsu in almost every FC scenario now, I started out with InvisX and it treated me OK. Landed this Freaky of a Musky on 10lb InvisX while fishing casting gear & a jerkbait for Smallies. So it's not too bad In my mind, especially for price. A-Jay
  19. TW ~ with a Military Discount. Thank you very much. A-Jay
  20. Mine too I tried the Fuji's they were - OK. But even after the fold down, they stand a little tall for my liking. So this winter I'll be doing what @smesx did and removing that stock PIA and spinning on my own in FRONT of the reel. Item #56 on the Tackle To-Do list. Hard water Time should fly right by A-Jay
  21. She took the photo for me ~ And if money was our biggest problem, We'd be Golden ! A-Jay
  22. Just Nailed It ! A-Jay
  23. Thank You for your service to our great country. No Bread A-Jay
