  1. I FINALLY have water temps that are reaching the 60's - it's been a slow warm-up for sure - - but the SMB seem to like it . . . . . A-Jay

  4. Last night didn't pan out as I had hoped - so I got right back in the saddle today with a SMB FEST ! A change in scenery made a major difference. I has one of those days that makes Winter in northern Michigan Almost with it . . . . A-Jay
  5. Funny you should ask - I'm hoping to stir up a few more SMB right before dark. Then after twilight, My "plan" is to connect with Ol' Marble eyes - I picked up a new cooler today at Jay's and would like to fill it up - I mean break it in - with in legal limits of course. . . . . . I'll be sleeping in but will post a report right before I head out again tomorrow afternoon to hook it up again . . . . . A-Jay
  6. Heading out for my first "night operations" of the year - conditions are looking favorable - Oh Boy . . . . A-Jay
  7. Very Nice ! Really enjoyed sharing the trip - some very sweet shots of the hotel too. And of couse there were several great big bass smiles. A-Jay
  8. I have not used that model - but have been a Shimano fan for years. I have several versions of the Clarus both spinning and casting - they are a very good quality blank with decent components. Comparing them to a G Loomis is debatable and might not be fair. I have a couple of G Loomis salt water surfcasting rods they are very nice and sort of in another catagory. For those who have the $$$ for a G Loomis the Clarus and the Crucial might not even be a consideration. But for the $$$ and what you get, they should be. The spinning rods are on sale at the link below for a very decent price - with the extra $$$$ you could get 2 rods ? Of course, then you'd need reels as well http://www.***.com/descpageRDSSHIMANO-SHCLSR.html A-Jay
  9. Looks nice Good Luck A-Jay
  10. Sharkbite - maybe this could be the way to go . . . . ? Check it out. http://www.ahoycaptain.com/shop/tx_sut250s.html I use this unit and really like it. (I'm using the model for a canoe) A-Jay
  11. Did the sunset cruise tonight - the smallies were ready willing and I was able to get a few of them to the boat and in the net. Water temps at 55. Sub-walk is making me a believer. A-Jay
  12. misfit1III8 - I hear ya - you know I did my time working for the man. So now it's fish, fish, fish, and then go fishing again. . . . Good Luck today - Throw the sub-walk A-Jay
  13. On the lake today - Cold wind - water temps dropped to 51 - but - and this is the good part - it was a SMB slam fest - Rapala sub-walk was the bait of the day - first time I've fished this bait - it's a keeper-- targeted flats on the north end - boat docks and beds - fish were surprisingly aggressive for such a chilly day - man that was a very good time - hoping for more tomorrow - A-Jay
  14. misfit1III8 Maybe if you had one of these - you wouldn't keep losing your pants ? Buckle-up tough-guy . . . . A-Jay
  15. Did anyone go out today and brave this nasty cold/windy slop ? I did not. I 'm waiting for the end of the week and hoping for something a little bit more seasonal. A-Jay
  16. Cool - I'm looking forward to getting out there with ya - soon. I did the Monday afternoon to sunset bite. Managed some decent LMB and SMB. It's always interesting when you get both from the same spots - you never know what it's gonna be- 4' *** and 1/0 gamakatsu's on very light line was the ticket - the water is so clear - it's the only way to go - I just became a pumpkinseed fan - again Looks like today and tomorrow are gonna be cool - 45-ish what's up with that - water temps are still in the mid to high 50's - it a slow warmer this spring - -Out again today - - - A-Jay
  17. Good Luck Man - Hope ya Whack'em and Good ! I'm thinkin' about putting in again myself in the morning - I'll let ya know how it turns out - btw - take some photo's this time and I might even keep a fish or two . . . see ya A-Jay
  18. Only distilled or purified water should be used to fill batteries. Tap water, drinking water, softened water, or well water should not be used because of possible impurity and mineral contents that can negatively affect the performance and life of the battery. As for the correct water level, each brand and size battery is a little different. If you have one, refer to the owner's manual. If not, most of the ones I have had to fill it was "full" once the water reached to bottom of each fill tube. **Always fill it AFTER you charge it otherwise you risk boil over. More importantly, Thank you for serving. A-Jay
  19. Riverator Check your pm's - photo's are on the way in an hour or so . . . A-Jay
  20. Riverator, Yes, I will send you everything I have - pictures, write ups and links in a PM. My battery lasts a total of 3 hours if I run it on max. If I run it at about 65% I get there a fraction slower but increase my battery life to 6 hours. That includes trolling around at very slow speeds to change positions and hold into the wind once you get there. I am on my way out the door, watch your PM's later today, it will be two separate messages. See ya A-Jay
  21. Seats are holding up fine - my wife really likes the seat backs - very comfy . . . . . . I even use them with the back folded down and sit on the back so I can turn and cast from side to side without the seat obstructing my casts - and then when I'm motoring to my next spot - just pop it up and I'm stylin' . . . . . A-Jay
  22. Really nice day on the water but turned out to be pretty slow - had 1 decent LMB come unbuttoned at the boat Looking to get out again today - taking my wife today - she's been very good luck so far this season . . . . . . A-Jay
