Yeah so which of your reels last as long as the old curados? :\The way you talk I can't figure out if you have a 150 to 200 dollar reel. Not to sound like a bum, but it's statements like that which bug the hell out of me. To tell you the truth I haven't been around long enough to tell a good answer to that yet, i hope others chime in.
I bought a diawa that was $170 about 8-10 years ago. I have no idea which model it was. Super duper with 100 ball bearings(or 6, alot back then) and the (still kinda new) infinite ar. POS locked up after only two weeks. The cheap ones aren't as smooth, but have served me well with a avg life of about three or four years.
I do tend to spend a little more on spinning reels, still just around $60-80. I only have two spinning reels and feel that you actually get a little more for your money on them. I have 4 baitcasting reels that are all under $60 and think they all perform well enough for the purpose they serve.
