    Not sure about a trend, maybe lighter? I think the insertless guides need much more TLC. Don't hook your lure in them when storing and be very careful as raw stainless guides are much softer than ceramic and other types of inserts. We use ceramic cutting inserts to machine hardened steel. Do the math. Also ceramic will not nick, it will crack and fall out of the guide letting you know right away you have a problem.

    I do seem to remember these but can't offer much help. They do sound similar to Poe's RC1 and 2. I was going through my pile of "hasn't been used in a while" stuff and found 3 of these. They say 4-5 feet deep. Coffin lip and a rattle. Used to catch quite a few on the RC1. Funny how you stray away from baits that work in pursuit of new ones that might work.

    How often do yo see a big bass caught by a guy crappie fishing or a huge musky caught by a guy walleye fishing. Stuff like this happens all the time. Not sure I get the meaning behind the academy awards comment.
