  1. It just seems to me that it's worth a few dollars to get more than twice as much time (132min) with folks who know that much about something that I'm interested in...again JMHO.
  2. This horse has been dead for 2 days......let's stop beating it.
  3. Well...after watching the first one....I'm hooked....$15.94 is cheap money to listen and learn from these guys while they dissect a lake. Great info and some pretty good entertainment also. This should be the new tournament format everywhere. JMHO
  4. What was that? Did the Irish know that today was Game Day? Congrats Alabama.....Wow.
  5. Oops...Sorry about that...of the 8 Bowl games that the SEC has been in....the tally is 5-3 with the SEC on top....I guess that Notre Dame is doomed...All hail Nick Saban.....
  6. Well...if you've been watching the bowl games...especially the Orange Bowl...perhaps it's time for the SEC to stop believing their own write-ups...they can be beaten and they will be beaten again tonight....Go Irish...
  7. You asked if you should wait for something better.....Are the bodies of water that you fish, compatible with a 17' boat? If so then by all means get your own rig. If you are fishing larger bodies of water then perhaps you should wait for more boat. You have to ask yourself if the borrowed boat filled the bill for you. But.....fishing out of the back of someone else's boat for the first couple of tournament years is priceless experience. JMHO Grampa
  8. Having had several bouts with skin cancer, and after using Buff scarf and gloves for the past 2 years with clean bills of health, I'm sticking with them.
  9. Wow.....
  10. Best Wishes for the Holiday Season and Peace of Mind to all. Grampa
  11. All I know is...I wasn't catchin' nothin' and Rhino gave me one of those Ragetail gizmos and I caught somethin' Grampa
  12. I have to agree with Silas on this one.....started Club fishin' in 1980 and fished some Federation Tournaments too....won a few and lost most but...I learned a lot of bodies of water and fished 'em a lot of years..Stopped that stuff in '99....Doesn't much matter how many or what kind...some 'll get caught and with a little luck, some knowledge'll be passed along. I hear ya' Silas...just hopin' for a few more trips. Grampa
  13. Seems to me that unless you want to rewinterize after every trip that you need a heated storage area. This lesson I learned the hard way when it cost me a lower unit. Fishing from shore is much less productive but also much less expensive. Grampa.....
  14. Terrible...horrible...unnecessary...gutwrenching....if you have a child or a grandchild...now is the time to hold them tight...I am very very sad..... Grampa
  15. Normally I hide when the temps drop but I did go out Wed. Got a little action by throwing a suspending twitchbait parallel to the shore, out on the first drop off. Fished s l o w l y. Grampa
  16. What about an Amazon.com gift card?...........or Alcohol...
  17. George...George...George...relax and enjoy whatever you are throwing and where ever you are throwing it...Just go fishing...you aren't fishing for "World Peace"...just remember that this is supposed to be "fun"....Just check in every once in a while and tell us how you're doing. Grampa
  18. Mashpee Wakeby yesterday was giving up good stringers of Lm and Sm bass on spinnerbaits.....unfortunately I wasn't throwing one. I did manage a decent laker on a twitch bait though.
  19. Went to Hopkinton State Park yesterday and caught two bass......the first one hit a senko that I threw in front of some sunwarmed rocks in 4' of water and the second hit a twitchbait over a small clump of weeds that were also being warmed by the sun in 2' of water. Then I went home. Tubes fish just like grubs except the ballhead is usually inside the tube with the eyelet poking thru the tube. My favorite flavor is Gitzit watermelon/red flake. Grampa
  20. IMO by using the Wacky tool and O rings, you have a fully exposed hook for better penetration, without half a worm in the way.
  21. Try going to NYBass.com and ask there.......
  22. I just got off the phone with Ardent and the answer is.....What's left on sale....are the last spinning reels they made in USA...the spinning reel lines....now to be called Forge and Edgewater....are to be made in China............................shame.........
  23. Yes those 1109 bearing look pretty stout as does the 1128 bearing in the middle. Solid design, but can I 'assume' the Forge and Edgewater are also home grown?
  24. Didn't they run Z-7's in that World Series of Fishing? They looked pretty good there. A friend of mine had one for a few years and loved it.
  25. Yeah....I'm just not sure I can live with the 'fishoflage' thing. There is the Forge as a choice in carbon fiber, but is that also made here?
