sorry meant to mention that using a white spinnerbait and burning it on the surface so that the blades are interrupting the surface of the water is also really affective

i second the clackin rap and also a spinnerbait or luckycraft pointer do really well

just recently got back into spinnerbait fishing after a long period of jig dominance. im lovin it. caught a couple of sixes and some nice bass. goes to show changing it up can give you that spark back into being obsessed with fishing again. the bait monkey is back...

sorry for not clarifying. I havent been able to fish due to varsity wrestling and soccer and school taking over my life haha. but actually the last time I went to my honey hole which was about a month ago for the first time in about four months there was a solid 2 inches of ice covering most of the lake. I was bummed. I cant imagine how you feel. good luck when it starts to warm up man

also just recently purchased a hatcam to fit my flip ultra HD video camera on so that i can get a first person view of all the fishing i do hands-free. this adds to my enthusiasm

Haha, your telling me that all them hogs you and your buds were pullin' in left and right last year was because you weren't into or couldn't fish? ;D ;D haha yeah we all caught some quality fish last year, but we all missed the spawn and the fun that comes along with it because we were all really busy. Didn't really get a lot of time to go fish until summer began. hoping to really get some big females in the boat when the water starts to warm up 8-) this spring

this is just basically a statement but I am so pumped to go fishing this spring. for the past couple years i have either been not that into fishing or unable to fish that often, but this year is going to change. i have been reading a ton of stuff on the prespawn and the spawn........and I AM PUMPED. anyone else ready to get out there and start pullin in some nice fatties?

I have been looking at Virginia tech as a college and was wondering if there are any good fishing spots close by or within a half an hour drive????

so i second the question proposed in this thread

i have been going up sporadically to lake hartwell with absolutely no luck. i dont have a big boat so i cant make runs to other sides of the lake but i do have a 13 foot tracker with a 55 lb thrust trolling motor mounted on the back. any tips would be greatly appreciated on how to catch fish in these waters because i have always had minimal success

i still have yet to pull anything outta there and i don't think i am going to try. try out silver lake which is up ashford dunwoody a little ways. good luck man!

hey guys its been a long time since i have gone fishing and an even longer time since i have posted anything to be proud of. just looked over the last couple of pages of outing threads and seems like you guys are slaying some bass out there. ok so i had a soccer game this past saturday right near where the golf course lake is located, so after the game i couldn't resist stopping by for a good half hour just to wet my line and see if i could catch one. i started out with a jig for about twenty or thirty casts until my line notted up on.................which made me extremely mad (i told you i hadn't gotten out in a while my line had the worst memory). so i switched to my new bait that hadn't gotten much action despite the time of year and the amazing quality of the bait. the mattlure hardbait bluegill. i hadn't gotten a hit on this thing yet so i was excited to use it. so i tossed the thing up next to the shore close to some good structure and a bed that i couldn't see anything on. let it sing a good 2 seconds.............gave it two suttle twitches...............BAM the bass comes out of the water on the strike. i hold on. good 2 minutes later i land the beauty of a fish. not the biggest ever but a solid 4.5 to 5 lber. it was great to get back on the lake again and catch one on a different bait. NICE FISH! where in georgia

got out to the golf course lake today, and it was cold (high 40's low 50's ), overcast and very windy. got to the dock around 6 and fished it for around an hour and trey (bassinassasin171) hooked up with a nice 3lber on a football head jig. went a couple hours out on the boat with nothing happening until I decided to switch to a wacky rigged trick stik. caught a 1.6 followed by a 3.3. then hooked up with a nice fish and it went about 6.5 on the digi. trey ended the day with a smaller fish that had a big belly. overall a great day on the lake. heres the vid of the 6.5 that trey took with his video camera

I was recently given a regular Mattlure Bluegill. I've used the Ultimate Bluegill and have caught hawgs on it, but I can't seem to get nearly the same effect with the regular one. When I work it slowly or even at medium speed there is no action to speak of. The lure gets great action and really looks like a swimming gill... but only when I burn it through the water. It works well jigging on the bottom as for a bed lure, but the spawn hasn't come yet. Anyone have suggestions?

one question do the hardbait bluegill sinkers sit on their nose when they are resting on the bottom?

my friends and i have a similar problem. we have a friend who has a small body of water behind her house that holds some HOGS, but her property only sits on less than 20 feet of shorline that is full of trees that block you from casting anywhere. about 30 feet to the right is a long expanse of bank that is prime for 10+ lb bass during the spawn, but unfortunatly the land is owned by a guy who won't allow us to even step foot on his land even though we haven't done anything wrong like leaving trash or anything. i just want to go up to his house and BEG him to let us fish, and i have been thinking about trying to offer my services around his lawn so my friends and i can be able to fish. AND THE THING THAT MAKES ME MAD IS THAT HE DOSN'T EVEN FISH ON THE WATER >

any one have any reviews for the mattlures hard bait ?

hey just wondering what your thoughts are on yozuri hybrid line. just picked up a 850 yard spool of 8lb for $4.88 thought it would be a great deal or just horrible line? i haven't tryed it out yet just wanted to see what your opinions were. thanks

hey i just buy my own football head jigs (chompers) and get get starflash skirts to go with them. i never buy premade jigs.................................but been wanting to try this evo2 jig out.
