  1. Anywhere you find rocks. Pop-r in the mornings, white spinnerbait if it's windy. White or chartreuse tubes or green pumpkin sencos during midday. Long casts are important. Good luck
  2. Chuckling at myself here, I can't believe I read this whole thing.
  3. Thank you all for your input.I'm still shopping. How about Crowley marine, has anyone used one of their rebuilt lower units?
  4. No insurance, I'm still shopping, I found new aftermarket units at SEI for a very good price($845). But I'm a little leary about parts that may come from Asia. Does anyone have experience with these new aftermarket units made by SEI? I've seen only a few of both good and bad reviews. Again Thanks for everyone's input.
  5. Something (suspect BIG rock) took out the lower unit on my 115 yamaha, it's not fixable. For those of you who have had the same misfortune or know someone who has; is there a recommended place to buy a good used or rebuilt unit? Or place to NOT buy one? Thanks, it sucks not having a boat.
  6. Teaching my son to fish at a very young age, then fishing team bass tournaments with him, and then seeing him grow to be a much better bass fisherman than I am.
  7. I do the same thing, but I use #14 mono instead of wire. Keep several size rubber bands handy because sinkers vary. I use thin rubber bands or skirt material for tungsten sinkers.
  8. WRB said it VERY well !
  9. Very well could be a couple bad spawning years back to back. Bad weather or over harvest off beds can make a huge impact on an age class in a small pond.
  10. "I fished in some stained water and that line became crap." I'm curious, please explain more.
  11. For many years I used the alberto knot and the double uni knot for connecting leader material. I found the uni knot was to bulky and sometimes the alberto would "wear out" For the last few years I've been using the "Yucatan knot" and find it both smaller and stronger than any previous leader to main line knot. When you tie it you double the braid and wrap the braid around the leader but when it's drawn tight the mono or flouro will actually be wrapped around the braid embracing it.
  12. Super fluke/ white or bubble gum
