  3. Ryan...Just wonderin if you are sponsored by SPRO. Most "huntin" crankbaits are made of wood (balsa, cedar, bass wood). I have fished the SPRO Little John series and they just dont "hunt" like a good, wooden crankbait. Most plastic crankbait manufactures have tried to get a crankbait to "hunt" like a wooden bait but it just doesnt happen.
  4. I understand what you're sayin about a crankbait that hunts but that's only if you reel at one speed in a straight line. When I work a crankbait I'm constantly varying my reel speed, and rod tip angle. Crankbaits are more effective when you're no just chunkin' and windin'.
  5. So....whats the price for these? I Googled it...went to their website...went to their Ebay site and there are none for sale. Would you know how much they cost each?
  6. If I'm not using a rod in the boat I'll secure the lure to the hook keeper on the rod or to the reel itself. Then I will grab the line that doesnt run through the guides about half way up the rod and I'll spin the rod twice and secure the line to the middle eyelet. This helps eleviate rods getting tangled up on the boat deck. I use lure wraps, rod socks, and reel covers transporting my equipment enroute to the river or the house.
  7. Bandit Flat Maxx. Runs true out of the box and won't empty you wallet.
  8. The 5/16 oz model with the short lip dives 0-2 ft. and the 5/16 oz model the the longer lip dives 0-5 ft. There is also a 1/2 oz sinking model but I dont have the specs on it.
  9. I've noticed at my local Walmart that they stock the Plano FTO 3607 Spinnerbait organizer. It hold up to 18 baits and is the size of the 3600 boxes. Not sure how the secure the baits. I'll have to look a little more close next time I'm there.
  10. I also use the Falcon FTO 700 spinnerbait box. I have had no problems with it so far.
  11. Do a Google search for "Charlie Campbell zara spook." Read some of the articles. He is the Master of the Spook!
  12. Down here in the Mobile Delta I have great success with anything in a black splatterback. Especially a Bandit 100.
  13. Denny Brauer swears by it!
  14. I'm sure there are custom rods that are built but do any of the big rod companies make a baitcast rod without the trigger. I broke my left hand and wrist a couple few months back and I'm finding out now that the trigger is really bothering my fingers. I'm not sure why this hasn't been a problem before but now it really bugs me. I mounted a baitcaster on a spinning rod and played around with it this evening. I found it very comfortable. I like to hold the line between my fingers, especially when using plastics, and without the trigger I found that after the cast I didn't have to worry about getting my fingers positioned in front of the trigger to begin reeling . I can see the trigger on the older pistol grip rods but why do we need them now with such long handles? With the longer handles I use my forearm and even my side or stomach as leverage on initial hook-set and when fighting a fish. Maybe I should try to build my own rods.
  15. I picked up a couple of these on sale this summer. I can't wait to try them. Just a couple more weeks! http://www.customluresunlimited.com/ikonic_wrap
  16. Just noticed in the sponsor links on the left that the Banjo Minnow is showing up as a sponsor...how ironic! We can click on the sponsor link to buy it, but a thread will be locked if we discuss what we buy..hmmmm!
  17. Here is a custom wooden version. According to the blog this lure will not be made anymore. It's on sale til tomorrow. http://www.customluresunlimited.com/sabre_frog
  18. I like the way the Clackin Rap stands.
  19. Both are 4.3:1 The only difference between the BB-1N and BB-1NG is that the NG has gold trim instead of silver trim. (The G stands for "gold" trim.)

  21. A period here and there would make your post a whole lot easier to read. Next lesson we will cover CAPITALIZATION.
  22. Lesson learned...if you're wearing the fish out on a certain bait...stock up on 'em! ;D
  23. Thanks for all the replies. I found a store that has them reduced to $1.99 for a four pack. I do like the idea of putting one on the back hook hanger and a regular on the front. Ill give it a try at a local lake tomorrow.
  24. Are the VMC Sure Set hooks as good as they claim they are?
