  1. This!! Owners are by far my favorite.
  2. I'd say a smithwick rogue or the Rick Clunn megabass look alike.
  3. I've always used the palomer knot. Never had an issue with it.
  4. Suspending jerkbait all the way!
  5. Awesome guys!! Its great to hear everyone likes them. Thank you all!!
  6. Typically the only difference is location and structure. Sometimes there is no difference.
  7. I bought a St Croix LXS76MF legend elite just for doing what you are looking to do. I also have a SMR 913S-SP which is really nice but I like the Extreme a lot more. I fish both of these rods on St Clair and have caught 100's of smallies on each. I prefer the St Croix mostly due to the handle. I dont know what it is about the LE handles but they are comfortable for me. Both of these rods will drag tubes on the rocky bottom of St Clair.
  8. Here are some of my favorites that I use quite a bit. Finesse 5/16-3/8 PBJ is one of my favorites grass 3/4-1oz Blue bug swim 3/8 bluegill, bloody shad football 3/4 blue craw, blue bug brush 3/8-1/2 blue bug, blue craw, bama craw, pbj, sweet craw,
  9. I have AT&T cell service and went to their site to look at their cell plans for deals. They are offering a 2g data and unlimited talk/text for about 50 bucks for my phone. Total for us went from about 140 down to 90. For both our phones I just saves about $50 a month. So if you have a small cell plan you may want to check it out. This might save you a few bucks per month
  10. Nice fish!! Looks cold. Congrats
  11. For me I typically throw a silicone finesse jig with a 2" chunk trailer or Rage Baby craw. I'll be throwing a DB craw here shortly also. At times I will throw round rubber jigs also but most of the time it is silicone. That is where my confidence is.
  12. IMO the Loomis IMX series is the standard to what all rods are compared too and this rod started the high end market.
  13. I'm going to be using some of the Owner ZO wire flipping hooks this year. The other option I like is a straight shank flipping hook
  14. I bought this one last fall. LXC78MHM Its a 7'8" Legend Xtreme MH Mod action. So far its the best crankbait rod I've ever thrown. Square bills are about the only crankbait I throw anymore.
  15. How cold of water are you talking about?
  16. Gotcha, I'd keep it. Its a great rod and it will perform flawlessly for you. Your a lucky guy to have a gal that bought you a Legend Xtreme. I really like the LX rods. I just ordered a 7'11" one the other day. I think I'm up to 5 of them.
  17. I'm trying to understand your question here. If I'm reading it right the rod she got you meets what you are asking for. That rod is a perfect all around rod for many applications. Jigs, spinnerbaits, T rigs, etc. Its a great rod.
  18. I am offering Tungsten now Bullet and Flipping weights. They are non insert weights. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Terminal-Tackle_c23.htm On your question I would throw from 3/16-1/2 with that action rod. Like Felix said it depends on vegetation.
  19. Good luck and bring back some pictures.
  20. A 1-2 pound bass will easily eat a 1/2oz jig. 1/2 is one of the sizes I throw the most.
  21. LOL, Funny thing is I always know what lure she is talking about when she asks. She may not be lure name or tech savvy but she will put a hurting on the fish.
  22. This is my wifes favorite bait. Ever since she threw one at Pickwick I can not get her to change from it. Even when fish are on a suspended jerkbait bite. All I hear is I want to throw that green and blue fishy.
  23. This is my same opinion.
