  1. I've never had any issues with polished tungsten weights either. I've been fishing a lot lately with tungsten.
  2. Thank you all!!! She did not. Close though. She tipped the scales at 7.1lbs. I wont cull her though. LOL Yeah Julie thought it was a good idea to get that shirt for me.
  3. Awesome. Thank you for sharing with us!!
  4. here she is guys. My new fishing partner. Born August 15. The ladies are doing great.
  5. Nicely done. Congrats!
  6. They are definitely awesome baits. I have a hard time picking a favorite between the Craw, Bug, and menace.
  7. Awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
  8. ChrisD45, that pretty much sums up what why I'm developing this head. It will be offered with the Owner XXX hook and an Ultra point hook in all the models I make. Unfortunately Tungsten isnt a possibility right now. I wish it was. I am already highly impressed with the performance over a standard football. As it sits right now with no tweaking it is still better imo.
  9. I wont own another boat without one. The Hot foot allow for better control and safety especially in rough water. If your foot would happen to come off the pedal the boat slows to idle unlike a standard throttle that stays at speed.
  10. I would think very well but I still have testing to do before I build it. If it works the way I believe in laydowns it should be an awesome design. I'll be throwing them in a tournement this weekend. Pitching more rock and wood.
  11. Wow, awesome catching!!
  12. Good choice!!
  13. Here is a pretty horrible picture of the jig sitting in gravel. Notice the claws and how it is sitting. They are pointing up at about a 45 deg angle. I've fished this prototype quite a bit and it is real hard to get hung up, even when trying. I fished it last night in rocks up to about 10" in diameter by dragging and fishing normal. This jig kicks over rocks better then any standard football or any football I've fished. Then I switched over to a regular football to compare. There isn't a comparison at all. This jig is by far more advanced then a standard round football. When the jig falls the trailer points up. Overall, I am highly impressed with the jig.
  14. I'm working on a new style football jig. Just looking for everyone's input and what they think of the design. Here are a couple photos. The head has a flat spot on the bottom and angled edges. With this it also has a recessed eye, better collar, and barb. I'm working on this heads angles to help kick it over rocks a bit better then a standard round ball football. This head is based off my Dredge head but I want it to be a improved. I'm still in the tweaking phase of this but my main question is: The head does not stand on a flat surface with the flat base, but when in rocks it fishes like a champ due to the angled sides. When I put a skirt on the head it does stand from the skirt and fishes just as well. Would you all prefer a football jig that will stand up like my brush heads by itself on a flat surface or would you prefer the angles to help kick the jig up and over structure? I personally would rather have performance over look nice on a table top. I've never seen a bottom contour like a table.
  15. Nice catching!! Especially on a lake you do not like.
  16. I throw a brush jig almost 100% of the time. I like the headstyle and I like the way it holds the craw up. Arkys are also a great all around jig head and will do just about anything you ask it to.
  17. I dont shorten the meneces on 3/8 oz.. On your 1/4 I may take just a little off if it didnt work well at full length. When I fish the Rage craw 99% of the time I take 1- 2 nubs off the tail. Like pictured in my avatar.
  18. Awesome!! Thanks for sharing
  19. I'll probably forget one or two but here goes. MO, IL,MI, AL, TN, MS, AR,WI, Canada, SC, KY, TX I think that is it.
  20. I'd probably throw a 3/8 in less then 10 fow. Most of the time I throw a 1/2 for all around fishing. Ledges I typically throw 3/4 football
  21. I throw 15lb flouro for just about everything jigging. The only time I change is heavy cover. Then I go to 50-65lb braid. I do not throw a leader. If I had to chose one for all around and I did fish heavier structure I'd probably have to agree with the 20lb flouro.
  22. Ouch, I hope they get you a new rod real soon.
  23. One huge lesson I learned awhile back helping a guy is its not always the jig. It can be the complete setup not working with the jig. I was helping a customer with making a swim jig just for him to his specs. We ran into a lot of issues. I would fish the jig on a 7'1" Heavy rod and 15lb fluorocarbon and catch fish with no issues. So he said send me a couple to test. He would miss fish consistently on it. So after a phone call we found out that he was fishing a rod about 7'6" x heavy with braid. So I had a similar set up and tested it. I had the same result as he did. After a few changes to the jig we figured out how to match the jig to how he was fishing. Some jigs do have to be altered to a specific style of fishing. Most jigs will just interchanged but there are certain times that a jig must be modified to fill a specific task and there is only one way to find this out. The user has to test it out and modify as need be if its needed at all. This is the main reason I leave weedgaurds full length on all of my jigs. On some of my jigs I could probably shorten them but I do not want the end user to not be able to tweak the jig to how he/she needs it.
