  1. Yep, its not wavy until your running to the back of the boat when your fishing to get the weight off the bow so the monster waves dont come over the top, and your trolling motor is only in the water about 1/2 the time.
  2. LOL so true lots of this . Thats where I learned, bad thing is when the scarabs run up and down and left and right the waves go every which way and its like driving my little 17.5" boat through a hurricane.
  3. Dont go sideways(parellel) with the waves. When you come down one wave the next one can break and fill the boat or possibly flip you. 2-3 footers I doubt would but if you get to the 4-6 range it might. I will slightly angle or go head on. Alot depends on how far apart the waves are. It takes practice when to accelerate or slow down. To fast or to slow the bow wont lift and you will spear the wave. Its all in throttle and trim control. Although a 2-3 ft wave you really dont have to worry about spearing to bad. 4-6 fter if the bow doesnt get up your eatin water.

  5. I need some help finding Square living rubber. If anyone knows where I can find some please let me know. Thanks
  6. My mom drives me Chevy all the way. I owned a boat before I owned a vehicle. So the mom drives me wasnt far off years ago. Although I took my dads F150 until it broke down and wouldnt haul the boat up the ramp.
  7. I saw cabelas clerancing out a 700 dollar lowrance for 399 I'd check that out
  8. cool MO is in the top 20 just barely. I'm going to have to make us atleast 15.
  9. 6oz. Thats my prediction I dont want to curse myself. Hopefully I will catch one over 7.5lbs though that would break my PB and I have 2 great lakes to break it in.
  10. awsome, looks really
  11. Here is what I do, Fish a jig either black or black blue with a matching trailer. If that doesnt work throw a tube, I have been doing well off white tubes in muddy water. If that doesnt work here is what I suggest
  12. Well the results are in, after fishing after 3 t storms in 3 days here is what I found after the 1st, fishing was good with the stained water the fish pulled shallow after the 2nd the fish were still shallow and the water was muddy after the 3rd the fish had enough and wouldnt bite
  13. :-? my productivity at work might go up.
  14. here is a horrible picture of a fiberglass reproduction on my wall. It was alot more then a skin mount but she is still swimmin.
  15. IMO there are several great hooks. Owner, gammy, mustad needle point to name a few
  16. That sounds about right 60 cents each for a standard jig head. Thats about the going rate for most jigheads with a premium hook IMO do it molds are the best. Thats all I use. If you have the lead all you will be out is the price of the mold, melter, hooks, time. Sounds like you already have the melter so for what you would pay for 60jigheads you can get all the material for making 100 of them. Mostly depends on the hook you get. mold $28, mustad needle point hooks $12 for 100 (approx) depends on style
  17. If it was me I wouldnt invest more than 50 bucks in it. Just make sure the size hooks you use will be acceptable by the vice and the vice has a rotating head.
  18. You can basically spend as much as you want to on a stand. Here are a few http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/fly-tying-vises/ To make a silicone skirt or living rubber skirt with a collar I just use a skirt making tool that looks like a pair of reverse pliers.
  19. barlows, jansnetcraft, and stamina should have everything you need I use silicone and living rubber for all of my bass jigs. I really like the looks of the barbwire silicone. It's more expensive then standard silicone strips. All I make are bass jigs. now if your talking hair jigs craft stores might have the stuff you need. most of the time bucktail is used or marabou. its more time consuming to tie also, but does give you a different style of jig.
  20. the only time I use rattles is in muddy water. Otherwise i dont see a reason too.
  21. yeah I forgot to say dont fish in lightning, not a real good idea
  22. Since we are coming upon the thunderstorm season I thought this would be a good question. Typically how do bass react to thunderstorms. Whats your experience with them.
  23. Yup the baitmonkey and I are good friends, finds me all kinds of tackle I dont need
  24. on the small ones I use the the fins as support to hold them, others I just grab them in the mouth or gill plate, If you grab them in the mouth be prepaired for cuts if you dont have a good set of gloves
