  1. I hope I can explain this right so I will give it a shot. I fish quite a bit and all of my info I give I try to be 100% accurate. I do this because there are so many people that bend the truth. I just think that is poor sportsmanship. Yes, 20+ fish days do happen, 50+ fish days happen,100+ fish days happen. I fished Lake St Clair this year and our boat 2-3 people avg over 100+ fish on multiple days. We also fished extremely hard and avg 9-14 hrs a day. This is rare but if you locate and pattern fish it can happen. I fished a buddy tourney one time and we caught over 60 fish. The catch is we only weighed 3 I believe. If we fished the points we could catch a fish around 14" like crazy but a keeper was 15". The total counts I give are on "bass" unless I would say I caught 3 that weighed 3lbs. Like said above. We dont report the bad days. If I posted everytime I went fishing and said "I caught 2 fish or I caught 1 fish" alot of you guys really wouldnt care especially if I reported I caught 1 that was 10" long today. I fished for 5 hrs too. It happens. We only like to see the good stories. These forums have helped me out a ton in my fishing capabilities, by no means do I think I am a pro. I learn from others posts and try these techniques. You do have to sift through some BS but take the good out of the posts and put it to good use. This will make you(all of us) a better fisherman. When I first started on these forums I was a bank beater. Since then I have shed that and started catching better fish, and learning how to locate them. IMO fishing from the bank for bass is alot harder then a boat. Your restricted by the terrain. On a typical outing my goal is the same as Brads My #1 goal is to have fun My #2 goal is to learn something, anything on that trip. Something about the lake, something about the fish, something about a new rig or a better way to fish something. Any knowledge gaines makes any trip a success, even if it's fishless.
  2. Its a good idea but I would be afraid of it slidding off the line. If you hook into a good fish and it slides it could also cut your line. Just some thoughts that I had.
  3. thats awsome nice job.
  4. I also make my own. Most of what I make are living rubber or silicone with the collars. all most all of my jigs are bass jigs, either finesse or full size. I highly recommend it. The colors are limitless. What ever you can dream up you can make.
  5. This time of year for me I have better luck with a deep diving crank. I focus on the reaction strike over the maybe strike on a little 4" sissy worm . Your depth finder will show the depth of the fish and just pick the crank accordingly. One of the hardest suspenders to catch is fish on Tablerock or other very clear lakes that suspend say 40ft (thermocline)down in 70 ft of water. IMO the only way to get these guys is by swim jigs, ds. or spoons.
  6. those are awsome. Great job
  7. I did, but Glenn fixed all of us up. I'm good to go. Been hanging around all day stirring up trouble.
  8. I really like that bottome one. Its sweet. Nice Job KB
  9. I switch alot between my lures. I usually have about 5 rods rigged which I switch between alot. I normaly dont fish one thing long unless it producing fish.
  10. Well I guess that is 2 people in this world that love that color. Since we are announcing great colors how about Green pumpkin purple, smoke purple, and white with silver/gold/blk flk. There my secret is out. Good thing no one reads my posts.
  11. I did the same as you a couple years ago. it can be fixed. I dont reccomend you doing it yourself. I would take it to a certified repair shop. Mine cost 150 bucks.
  12. I dont see how that is a lie. You evaded his main question, but he was content with the answer. Even if he thinks you cant fish afterwards who cares your catching fish. Remember if you evade the question you never lie. Or you can answer the question with a question. "So do you fish those ponds and give me any pointers?" I should be a politician ;D
  13. It doesnt matter what lure or technique just a tip that you can give. I will start. 1. Fish can be caught off crankbaits after a cold front 2. If you are thowing a hard jerkbait and catching the fish on the back hook you are fishing it to fast.
  14. Those two but heads quite a bit. I enjoy reading their posts when the are battling it out. Quite entertaining. I thank you guys. LOL Their are so many brands and custom pours out now that are identical or extremely close its hard to chose one over the other. To me it depends on what you are looking for. Some are more durable and others like the senko have more action. It mostly depends on how I am fishing them. If I'm fishing the honey hole or a smaller pond I wont waste my senkos I will throw the cheaper ones. But if I fish a tourney or the bite gets tough I will usually fall back to the senko. (Roadwarrior you can fuel the fire with that paragraph).
  15. I see this as the problem. Your focusing to much on the "Atleast a "keeper" in tournament standards" fish. From reading your posts it sounds like you have lost the enjoyment in it. It might be the smaller fish, the heat, maybe something else. You need to get the enjoyment back into the fishing then the bigger fish will come. Relax and have fun its the only way to fish. I see to many people or posts who put to much focus on this "NEW" tournement push. In some it sucks the fun right out of fishing. Me being a prime example. Couple years ago I made the desicion to fish maybe one or two small tourneys a year but mostly focus of fishing to relax and have a good time with family or friends. I have to admit the last 2 years have been the best fishing years I have ever had. Wish you the best and it I hope you catch that lunker soon.
  16. thats cool, nice job. I like the name of the boat too.
  17. about 40 lbs with one fish off a jig. Oh wait this isnt a catfish question. I'd say about 26-28lbs since I have to limit it to 5 fish. Earlier this year I was hammering the biggies. Not so much anymore I havent had time to figure them out and catch'em. I had it down to where I could throw my lure in thier front door and hookem. Yeah and you guys in the far south need to give us a handicap of 5lbs. So all of our fish weigh 5 more pounds then what they do or you guys lose 5lbs. Your 10 lbers are as common as catching a 5lber here. LOL
  18. I would go back to Lake St Clair for smallies. Just awsome. Forget the Largemouth.
  19. my three guess's Drum (notorious for rod ripping strikes) Cat turtle
  20. thats what we use here for removing stickers from shipping cartons, sometimes a hair drier will work. Depends on the sticker. Works great.
  21. Oh man thats not good. He was one smart dude with the motors.
  22. No sponsers here. Everything I post is water learned and what works for me. Sometimes it doesnt work for someone elae and other times it does. I can usualy spot a sponsered by post pretty quick. If I post up about a lure I hate or love its honest no backing from a company. I paid for it and I will speak the truth from my experience with that product.
  23. Where did the rules go. I've been looking and cant find them. I hope I didnt just over look them.
  24. Here you go.
