  1. I would guess 8-10lber. Lake fork texas on a water dog.
  2. I was getting ready to take out the boat sunday after fishing and happen to lift up the livewell to see how much water was in it. Well, there were 3 mice in the freezing cold water that had probably drowned. I got to say that is the oddest thing I've found in my livewell. Whats yours? No jokes of a FISH ;D
  3. It sounds like you are just trying to catch fish and build confidence in the jig. The lure you are throwing is one I would highly suggest starting out with. Its just a little time on the water and you will pick up the trick and your on your way to jig fishing. It also sounds like you bought a great rod and imo that is what you need in successful jig fishing.
  4. it wont work as pouring a whole senko. Atleast I couldnt keep the plastic from burning. Earthworms Idea works great just a bit more hassle.
  5. I went with fishing with others, Reason, Fishing with people better then you will make you a better fisherman. Especially if they are good enough at teaching. Thats how I learnded alot. Second would be Water time third internet (you guys)
  6. spro frog sammy spoof chug bug
  7. I'm getting worried. That is the go to place for making lures. Those guys know tons.
  8. Here is how I decide Clear = typically no rattle Stained= try it both ways Muddy= always This is the way I fish them, this "standard" has had repeated over and over for me so I just stick with it.
  9. IMO Smaller jig will always out produce in #'s Larger jig will always out produce in quality. That kind of goes along with fishing any type of lure Its your choice of what you want to catch.
  10. Xpoint are the best! I have yet to fish one that is as good. Owner takes second place
  11. Nope, been over a week :-/ :'(
  12. When you guys fish during the winter how do you keep your lower unit from freezing after you are done fishing? Here is what I do but I am looking for other great info. lower the motor to drain all water Raise and lower moter while turning steering wheel to try to remove more water. Turn motor over a few times to blow out most excess water.(I figure an impeller is cheaper then a lower unit). Is there anything I am missing or need to change?
  13. On a side note, I will be the first to admit. I have broke a total of 5 loomis rods I believe. How many were their falt. Maybe one. The others I broke not paying attention. Yes, I bucked up and paid for the repairs of each except 1.
  14. Great post Fletchero. One of the best I have seen in a long time. Stating the truth always hurts, but sometimes it needs to be done. Goes back to the saying most of the time you get what you pay for. and Roadwarriors post You get a clap smilie for that too. IMO I would rather pay an extra $100 at the time of the purchase then down the road buying another rod for 150 and so on. Warranty and good CS makes my mind up most of the time
  15. Can anyone access this site? I have been unable to for all this week. Hope its back up soon.
  16. My fingers agree. I dont change them either
  17. Exactly! With high performance comes high maitenance. A single shot gun cost about 100 bucks and yeah it shoots but a good simi costs about 1K and shoots 3 times fast and looks good. Also will probably break before the 100 dollar gun. Same with fishing rods, vehicles, etc. Tools are ment to be used
  18. I understand the advertising and business. I just think there is a point that it becomes obserd. I guess its more of the focus on all the tourney fishing that I dont care about. I like fishing facts more then who is whinning what. I just signed up for In-fisherman for 2 years cost 20 bucks. Cant beat that. Here are a couple I might still sign up for on you guys rec. I've never seen any of these except bassin. That was awhile ago. Bassin Inside Line (GY) FLW. Thanks guys
  19. 100% agree, NO glass for me. Graphite has to many more benifits then glass imo
  20. Thats what I had noticed some of the others seem written by lesser skilled anglers. I could probably write some articles for a few mags I have seen. I will check out bassin, GY never seen one. But I'm thinking Infisherman is where its going to be at. I think the reason I'm having a hard time deciding is I dont like to read corperate articles
  21. for jig trailers is the question. Since the water is getting cold I want your opinions please. Since plastics have come along way in recent years I feel that pork isnt worth the hassle.
  22. I'm going to get another magazine subscription and wondering what you guys prefer. A guy at work has bassmasters and I read those but I dont perticularly like them. To many adds and I havent found any real good info in them yet. I use to get In Fisherman and this is the way I am leaning. I like it because it is multi species and they seem to be very knowledgable. What do you guys prefer?
  23. I dont know your answer but I would just print labels off your puter. Lots cheaper and you can make any design you want. thats almost 19k. Wow, Labels or a new boat. HMMM
  24. same here, no problems that are hook related.
