  1. Fin- Have you noticed anything yet out of your report. Notice the cycles that the fish go through. Its a basic pattern that I have found works year round and is consistent. Also look at your lures. You can tell your primary lures and also what is fished at a specific time for sucess. I bet if you did this for a few years you really wouldnt see any change. The graph would be the same year to year. You can also see the similarities between Winter and Summer locations, also prespawn and post spawn fishing. The fishing technique is basically the same also. I really like your report. I'm sure you have alot of hrs in it. This shows that the guys fishing shallow after the spawn are for the most part wasting their time in quality fishing.
  2. This is one thing that my mind is always changing on. Right now its FNS braid. Strong and sensitive. But I dont use it much because I fish more clear water then stained-muddy. I fish more cabelas flouro then anything. Another good flouro is Triple fish
  3. Unfortunately not. Missed one that size on one but they came off a beaver style lure t rigged
  4. I caught these saturday. Just now had time to post them up.
  5. I hate to admit it, but Raul is right. ;D I've got 3 bcr's and 1 bsr with those recoil guides. No problems at all. I throw 30lb braid on the 855 for heavy jiggin or frogs mainly. I have not experienced any complications at all. The braid on recoil guides is noisy but I think it sound pretty cool when you cast.
  6. Nice fish dude. 8-)
  7. I am not so sure I WANT him to wake up. It would be nice to actually take home some money from the job and not spend more than I make. Good luck with that one. LOL If BPS was closer here I would get me a part time job there. But with miles they would have to pay me more then I bet they are willing.
  8. Just having a moron moment. LOL. I have christmas vacation on my mind. 4 days of hunting and eating. Woohooo Back on topic now. I have a few chronarchs that might need to go over to him for a bearing or two. Getting some dragging noises. The drags need rebuilt too. I got all the parts but just havent decided if ReelMech gets to do it or I'm going to. I'm with RW on this Cabela send them to ReelMech
  9. I'm not one to judge or usually jump in on these types of issues but Shorty this isnt called for. LBH is just pleased with what he does and likes bringing smiles to peoples faces when he delivers their packages. He has nothing to do with other UPS stations or internal affairs. Every company has theives and any company that big or even 1/100 that size has these problems. Please take your complaint up with your local UPS Hub not here. From your previous post it sounds like Nikon is taking care of you. We dont need this type of blaspheme. Thank you.
  10. In largemouth fishing I dont think it matters a whole lot around here. Like Rolo said its more about speed. I catch fish off 4" tubes, 4-5" jerkbaits, same jig year round. I am the master at catching dinks off a 4-5" jerkbait also in the winter. I can go out and catch 6-12 fish that are 8-10"'s long on a rogue. I dont have any scientific knowledge on this but just experince of catching fish in the winter.
  11. This is a density question. A rock is denser then the water so yes it will hold heat longer. On the flip side it takes longer to warm. Same with air and water. You also have to inclued color a darker object will warm up more/faster then a lighter color. Thats why I wear darker colors in the winter and lighter colors in the summer. For example This is why snow melts off the black top driveway before a concrete one.
  12. I use to live by this until recently when I fished the "Retard" thats what my buddy called it. The fish had lock jaw and the water was muddy and cold. I was throwing a 1/2oz blk jig blue trailer and catching nothing at all. So I started fiddling around with spike it and dyed the flappers on the trailer chartreuse. The thing was ugly and I mean real ugly. But I caught about 3 fish in less then 20 minutes. No other fish were caught after lossing the jig. > Most of the time I do just match them closely in hue's/shades especially in clear water. Some times you have to expirement.
  13. I've heard that before. In this state the do rule along with about 2 other colors I keep secret. The PBJ is now well known around here but a few years ago it wasnt. Oh well on to better things I guess. The PBJ does work great and will just about out produce any other color around here unless your in muddy water. You guys fishing MO might want to remember that.
  14. Here are some examples I do not use trailers on swim/hair jigs that imitate a shad. I use those more like a grub or vertical jigging over suspended fish.
  15. Manns Jelly worm. It might not be the best now but it started a revolution years ago.
  16. I wish I had an answer for you. I dont like the rod wraps. I have the same problem and also the reel get real cold on the hand in the winter. I thought about putting some archery mole skin on the reel for an insulating pad but the slippery handle I got nothing.
  17. The ups lady years ago knew me by name. Every time she saw a package from cabelas she knew exactly who it went to. ;D I'd be out side and she would say Hey G, I got your cabelas stuff. I would respond I love you! Your the best.
  18. I just checked and its down again but it shows some TU stuff and it says they are working on it as we speak. Hurry up Puter Guys. LOL I've got issues. ;D
  19. I'm just making this post to vent some and also possibly save you guys some headaches in the future if you have warranty issues with any company. Please keep your receipts for proof of puchase. Cheap items are up to you but expensive items its highly recommended. Some dealers have older product around that most companies will warranty if just purchased with proof of just purchasing. Keep notes on exactly what you sent in. If serial numbers are included keep a copy of it. Same as size, type, style, and all other important information. Also in the package shipped place a letter with all return information and contact information. Ways to ship, Package like its going to be drug behind a truck. Insure it for replacement value Shipping companies offer tracking numbers Follow those steps and you shouldnt have problems unless murphy is your buddy. You guys would be suprised how many packages are shipped with lack of knowledge of what was shipped, who it belongs too, no insurance, or shipping information. Mind boggling on very expensive items.
  20. Hk is one of the best but high dollar For the price an FNP is good. Accurate and reliable. Revolvers I've always liked the Smith airweight series. Light and compact, just loud and kick like a mule in a 357.
  21. I have the same feeling as Falcon. I have bought a few though sight unseen. I am familiar with loomis actions because I have owned several. I dont like to not see them first but sometimes you have to take the risk when no one carries specialty rods in your area. That is one good thing about cabelas. They send you a return postage label with all your orders. Dont like it ship it back.
  22. So did you test out any of the rods for your customers to make sure there wasnt anything wrong with them I bet its pretty cool being a UPS driver. You get to meet all types of people.
  23. the simple answer is, no one cares about the little animals that no one notices. Its the beautiful creatures that people care about. Each creature has a specific reason for being here from a whale to a roach. There is no difference they all have a specific impact on their ecosystem. Its only human nature to want to keep the more majestic creatures. Honestly what would you rather have a whale or a tick.
  24. I would guess 8-10lber. Lake fork texas on a water dog.
  25. I was getting ready to take out the boat sunday after fishing and happen to lift up the livewell to see how much water was in it. Well, there were 3 mice in the freezing cold water that had probably drowned. I got to say that is the oddest thing I've found in my livewell. Whats yours? No jokes of a FISH ;D
