  1. How did you do that? I've been working all day on trying to download and print this map. All I print off is a blank sheet with road names on it. :-/
  2. here is a link to my fishing hole. I will modify this map I guess and make my own fishing map. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&z=14&ll=37.930591,-90.234189&spn=0.03297,0.05785&t=k&om=1
  3. The lakes I mostly fish are smaller man made lakes say approx 50 acres maybe more. I'm not a good judge on surface area. My question is has anyone taken the time to sketch thier own map. Nothing hugely detailed just main features like channels, points, drops, brush, rock piles, etc. Also, In the warmer months has anyone ever dove down to see features of a specific area. For example a cliff. Yes I know they make depth finders that read contour. ;D
  4. Thanks for the ideas guys. This is one area I have fished and had little success. I will keep working at it because I know they are there. I will try all of your responses and see how it goes. PS once the lake unfreezes :-?
  5. Thats what I was thinking when I read the topic.
  6. awsome looking flys/jigs good job. 8-)
  7. I've used 10.5" old monsters for pulling across weeds/lily pads works pretty good at times
  8. How come sight fishing is automatically considered bed fishing? I sight fish every once in awhile in the summer and fall. If the fish are cruising you guys are missing out on some fun. Nothing is cooler when a fish darts out of the tall weeds grabs your lure then swims back into the weeds. you witness the whole thing. Or pitching docks and a fish slowly swims out toward your senko and you watch his mouth open and gills flare. Then shiz'am your bait is gone. This one is one of my favorites to do. Clear water you can see deep fish do this too. You may witness this at 10-15 ft or more. Depends on the lake.
  9. shawn collins. They talk about his molds alot on Tackle underground. Thats the gentlemans name I see come up the most. Nice jigs guys. I think Do it molds came out with a mold this year for round heads with bigger hooks. I could be wrong though.
  10. Yeah its called winter, I got the same problem. ;D Went home last night and made dinner, then turned on the tv. The news said possible snow. Looked outside and there was already an inch on the ground. :-?
  11. I fish a mostly man made lakes with the typical mostly bowl shape with a few small points, all main lake because the lake isnt big enough for a secondary. There is a creek channel the cuts through 1/2 the lake and follows to the far side with a bluff at the channel swing then cuts back to the other side to the spill way. This is where the deepest water is located and the largest fish. There are 8-9lb large mouth that I know hang in this area. I have seen them because they were weighed with my scale. Heard rumors of 10+'s I have seen them but never caught one. What is the most effective way to fish a bluff that also has the old creek channel as part of it. The depth avg. is 17-20ft. There is not structure here except the bluff(bank) wall almost straight drop off,and on the other side of the creek channel(17-20 fow) 2nd question creek channel What is the best way to fish a creek channel in the middle of nowhere with no structure just the channel itself. Mud to gravel bottom. Depth rangets from 10-15 ft. A good example of what it looks like is this ---u----- A flat bottom with a slight decline to deaper water. The creek channel is the only structure I have found out here.
  12. LOL! Unfortunately that depends on the degree of ugly. You and I both know a keg wouldn't make some people look any better. You guys are killing me. ;D
  13. that is a great one. I laugh everytime I see it. Oh soooo funny.
  14. I think that would be cool if everyone posted what they got.
  15. Sight fishing is awsome. Nothing better to see cruising fish and catching them in clear water. Sometimes its the only way to catch fish.
  16. One thing I noticed isnt on there. Tubes. Unless its mixed in with plastics.
  17. Thanks for drawing the names Whittler
  18. Just like a mope head my good friend MUDDYMAN Hale, got any other Nature pics for us. I like the ones in this topic and your other one.
  19. Thats like a kick in the beans. Not very nice. ;D I know I complain alot about the weather but I really cant complain. I like the different seasons. I dont think I would like the temp hot turning hotter all the time. I would like to move to Springfield MO.
  20. Yes they are. Awsome pics, thanks
  21. awsome pics, Muddy I didnt need to see that.
  22. That a good one muddy. I mostly get vote for me calls. My usuall responses Why do we have personal property tax? I paid tax on it when I bought it and I dont need to continue paying tax on something I already have paid tax on. Another remark, So why should I vote for this person over the other person. Who's lying on the mud slinging? The next one is the greatest and almost always gets a hang up. Another one is they ask is "Gman there" me "yeah hang on 1 minute" then I let the phone sit until I hear the no one there tone. Some of those people are real patient. They really like it when you keep changing the subject or ask about a competiters product. "Hello I would like to sell you a dell" Me ok I'm interested " what about this HP those are pretty nice puters" It really depends on bordom, like this time of year I might just sit there and talk. Its 20 freakin degrees out. What else do I have to do. LOL.
  23. I probably post something different to every one of these topics. I guess it depends on my mood. But today I'm going with beaver dams or laydowns.
  24. I think it will be by the weekend. I'm thinking about ice fishing. Just gotta figure out how to cut a hole in the ice with hand tools. I guess I could use a 2" drill bit and drop a jig in the hole. Reason is I seriously doubt I catch anything.
