  1. other stuff like spoons, inline spinners, little george's and other types of doo dads. But yes I should have added that under a misc label.
  2. Any of you home owners might want to check your heating/electric/water bills. I received a water bill for approx 160 bucks. It said I used 1400 gallons for the month of January. I said there is no way so I called them up. Come to find out they estimated my usage. Well after they fixed my bill it was 25 dollars. Just me living in my house. Here is the better part. I call up my buddy and told him the story because I was mad, and remembered he told me how redicoulous the price of water was. Well he was being estimated too. Instead of one month like me he has been overpaying for about 5-6 months by about 75 dollars each month. So I strongly suggest you guys check your bills with your meters. Like my buds he has paid for about 3800 gallons of water he hasnt used yet. Some of you guys that have owned a home for along time might find a lottery jack pot. Just an FYI.
  3. zoom fat albert. I believe that is the only grub I own.
  4. yes, plaster of paris and epoxy.
  5. That does make good sense Roadwarrior. This vet. came up with the baitmonkey, has distributed and advertised his name, and post pictures of very expensive tackle on his stainless steel victim table. I think the central command center is based out of Mexico and there is a whole baitmonkey terror network throughout the US and Canada. We must be at threat level green pumpkin all the times. This terror code is as follows Low white Medium chartreuse High watermelon Dangerously adicting, Green pumpkin
  6. You still talking about that wild adventure for the 2k dollar gas tank. ;D That was a rough one.
  7. I would agree with that. Those would colors would work in any contion any bait style. From shad to craws to worms. I forgot about white.
  8. Its like fishing in the dark. LOL sorry thats a real bad joke. Actually when I do night fish I dont use a black light or anything. I just fish by feel or sound. All I use is the boat light and fish. Your probably wondering how I cast to the bank? The answer is by color contrast from available light from the boat light.
  9. I throw grubs similiar to that but on a carolina rig. Grubs work great for smallies, I use them on c rigs, t rigs, jig heads and shakey heads. They just work anyway you want.
  10. with all this talk about lures and how many. It got me thinking. What are the staple colors soft plastic colors. Here is what I think. green pumpkin black watermelon brown These colors seem to produce in any water condition out there. If I had to pic one of them it would be green pumpkin. It just works in all conditions and water types.
  11. This is the path I am headed to. More then 10 lures but not near what I have. I just have too much other stuff that needs used up. Once its gone its not getting replaced.
  12. That is what this year is all about for me. One specific technique is wacky rigging. I am going to guess for 07 I will be at 75% usage on tackle. Thats not per trip though thats avg of the whole year. Here is my break down. Jerkbaits: rogues, x raps, lc(2) Spinnerbait: bunch of them Buzzbait: 5 Topwater: 10 Crankbait: 30-40 mostly bandits, rapala, norman, and manns Jigs: alot but all similiar colors/natural colors Soft Plastics senko styles, lizards, worms, creatures etc % I use these baits Jig 80 jerkbaits 1 buzzbait 1 topwater 1 crankbait 5 spinnerbait 2 soft plastic 5 That is an estimated last years usage. Like mentioned earliar this year I'm going to broaden my horizons and fish more baits. Well atleast try too.
  13. I'm a huge line watcher. like others have stated its very important when jig/worm fishing. With practice you can tell the differences in the slightest movements. Sometimes the fish will sit on a jig and not move or he might be 15ft from where you casted. On extremely light bite days line watching and keeping a finger below the line in front of the reel is crucial imo
  14. Gotta agree with Rolo. For smaller fish all I use is thill pencil float. Works great.
  15. I really like the mustad triple grips. I did get some baits with daichii hooks and those might replace my triple grips. I will have to do more testing. I know there are sharper hooks out there other then triple grips but I just dont lose fish on them.
  16. Happy Birthday Muddster. To many more and hope you catch some large bass
  17. One of my all time favorite was a us tackle jig. I bought a bunch about 5-8 years ago and now I havent seen them again. Oh well good thing I make Poison jigs now.
  18. I use to be a big plastics junkie, but not near as bad anymore. Once I figured out how to fish a jig most of the plastics just sit around now. Since I have started pouring plastics I'm going to start broadening my horizens and fishing more senko style baits, and other plastics. Jigs will still be #1 and plastics are #2. CJ I have to agree with you on the jig/no trailer combo. Except a swim jig that mimics shad.(hair jig)
  19. Not a bad idea at all. I'd like to see a pic of that. Handle tape for a tennis racket works too.
  20. Eakins jigs, Best productions finesse jig that I have used.
  21. What I do is put the head back into the lead, after it has melted off then quickly wipe the hook eye area off with a towl. Got to be careful not to burn yourself or start the towl on fire. Usually there isnt enough heat there but I just wanted to throw that disclaimer out there.
  22. I wish I could help you out with this one. But I cant shoot straight. Well atleast this year.
  23. Thanks Craig. I was doing some research. The pictures didnt look exactly like the lake now. Then I looked where the docks were and a couple of coves. The pic is dated 1996. That is when they drained the lake and rebuilt the levee and spill ways. So knowing this there is about 5+ft of water where there is dirt showing on alot of the map. Hence the channels that look dry are not, they are flooded now along with some of my bluff that is exposed on that map. Sweeet.
  24. I probably avg. 1 per trip. Mostly jigs or a worm hook. Very rarely do I lose a crank or anything like that. Why you ask? Lure retriever. BTW RW shopping carts suck. Lure stealers.
  25. No thats not the channel. I didnt even know that one existed. Makes sense though, that is the water outlet for emergency drain of the other lake. There is a spill way now were that road is on the bottom right that flows into this lake from the one across the dam. This creek channel flows from the right and meets the left side of the lake creek channel in the top portion of the pic where that main point disappears. then the channel all combines and flows down the lake and towards the N. end it turns sharply I do believe or was deverted for the spill way. From your pic you posted Craig this shows how I need to document more of the lake I need to spend the time one afternoon and draw all this out according to the depth finder. If there was a way I could open this pic I could fill out alot of the depths on a majority of this pic from fishing it so much.
