  1. I think I remember that one. Probably mad because I tried other ways and it didnt work. I will have to give it another goaround. The 2nd time on the rubber worked great.
  2. I've tried them and didnt like them at all. I dont like to make negative comments but I ended up throwing them all away. Check stamina tackle for quality bulk hooks you might beable to get them cheaper then bps
  3. Main reason for asking is I have some left over from my spinning reel. Works fine for that, just got to pay attention or its not going to be pretty. Taking Naturals post and RW's post and putting + and - together this is what I was thinking. 8lb yo zuri is kinda thick but it shouls be close to 10 I would think in diameter. The 13lb break point would be nice because where I'm going to be is woody, real woody. But I cant go up in lb line or I will lose depth. Major perdicument here. I might have to just give it a whirl and take an extra reel. BTW Roadwarrior That is what got me into this perdicument. I'm about to get rid of all of my rogues because of this. A little wind plus rogue= backlash. Those xraps cast into the wind soooo much better. Same with LC, guess I will have to break down and buy couple on sale.I've tried the spinning reel for jerkbaits before. To take words from Muddy. I look like a MOOK out there fishing with 2 left hands.
  4. I've actually poured me some senko style baits with just a tad of salt for this very reason. I want that tail floating as high as I can get it. If I had some floating plastic I would use that. This is where pouring your own is a big benifit. Lets just hope it works.
  5. i'm using a TDX and a 6'6" med imx for jerkbaits. With my recent accedent I need to change line. Just wondering if anyone has thrown this line for jerkbaits. I typically use 10lb flouro but I dont know if my line will be here by the weekend. With RW talking alot about the lb break point of this it might work better then regular 10 flouro. Any thoughts?
  6. I bought some 22ga wire from radioshack saturday. It works great. I'll have to get some pics. I just followed jigmans instructions. Now if I can figure out how to wire tie a silicon pad. HMMM???
  7. here are some plaster of paris ones I've made.
  8. flouro all the way. Switch over and dont look back.
  9. Yep, this is one of my favorite places too. Especially for the more in depth technical questions on stuff.
  10. I've tried it a few times and no luck yet. havent given up though. I know it will work.
  11. This style with the 28-30 deg is fast becoming one of my favorites especially in grass it just seems to pull through alot better. but it is hard to beat this style on the bottom.
  12. Is it 28ga wire?? I've been wanting to give this another shot too.
  13. I agree, went through the same thing. As I got older and grew up I was still a little guy in my mom"s eyes. Your growing up and wanting freedom from the nest. She is just missing hanging out with you. Just my opinion but if you really are fishing that much I would slack a bit and hang out with mom some. Might not make alot of sense now but later down the road it will.
  14. Thats cool. Whats the letter B stand for?
  15. Have you ever felt Tungsten/Braid? You can pretty much feel what the fish are thinking. Add a GLX to that and you can feel the fishes heart beat. When the beat increases get ready to set the hook. He'x coming for your lure. LOL Tungsten is far superior to lead. I wont go back to lead bullet weights
  16. option 1: Strap the wife to the top of the car like a christmas tree, and angle the rod from the passanger seat to the back of the vehicle. 2nd option: What Ronnie said. I built one of those for shipping rods to MI. I would go with this option. Option 1 might not go over too good.
  17. I've noticed that too. its like a majical temp that just about everything works.
  18. At what water temperature do you guys typically start making the change from a jerkbait to a crank or rattle trap. For me its usually high 40's low 50's where I start seeing the bite change. Just looking for your opinions.
  19. Your senko technique is completely different then mine. 99% of my senko'ing is done with a BSR852 which is a medium action and 8lb line. From this: And the lb line you use My response would be 844. IMO its heavier then I would like for the open water but I do not like the 843 in heavy weeds. It doesnt have the backbone I like. When I do throw a senko into weeds/ but not thick I do it on my BCR853, In heavy stuff I go 854. Since you want to stay with the MBR series I'm saying go 844 especially with that line weight and thick weeds.
  20. I wonder if Ronnie knows what he got himself into. Fell sorry for the guy. Muddy and Avid on the same tour bus. Oooh thats going to be interesting to say the least. Good thing they take afternoon naps. LOL
  21. How many of you guys use these? I've used a few and prefer them over the round ones. Do you guys put them on the hooks of a crank too or just the line tie?
  22. Thanks guys, I couldnt have said it any better then that. Like Craw said it just eliminates bulk from the jig. When the bite is light its an excellent presentation. I catch more fish off a jig like that then the fully skirted jigs.
  23. Better change his name to Avid Spinning fisherman. That bsr852 is the best rod I've ever used. Its a great senko, fluke, small jig rod. Just fishes so easily.
  24. Great jokes guys. Hilarious.
  25. Pr844 imx with a diawa tdx, 10lb flouro, bandit 300
