  1. sounds like a good choice to me.
  2. Customer service manager for a leading manufacturer in outdoor products Part time Work in a sporting goods store selling fishing/hunting goodies. I do it to kill time and make a few extra bucks.
  3. all I have used is calhoun plastic I get from del. Never used anything else. I hear MF is one of the best. Nice bait and bass.
  4. dont want to pawn you off but I know who will know this. Go to del-mart and ask del. If I remember correctly you are suppose to mix it. he has some topics on this subject because I asked. I never did order the plastic though :-/
  5. Hmmm, Just dont know what to say about that.
  6. I'm kicking around buying a mold to make me some shakey heads with stainless wire. I cant decide if I want a football head, round head, or go with the poisen again. This mold will have to be modified. Here is a head style that I think I'm going to make. But I want some other opinions on it. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_89998_100010006_100000000_100010000_100-10-6 When you guys use a shakey head do you use one like above where the bait sticks straight up or do you like it angled back? Also what weight?
  7. Sitting here thinking about fishing and started to wonder with all the fat ika talk Anyone ever fish it on a drop shot? Anyone ever fish it on a shakey head? Whats your thoughts on these two methods and the ika.
  8. I've been looking at compact guns lately and cant make up my mind. You guys that carry, what do you carry or what looks good to you? I've been looking at springfield XD's but its a tad bulky and a bit heavy. Looked at a taurus millenium I liked the weight and size but dont know much about them Not a fan of glock for some reason and like the xd better Looked at a springfield 1911 model compact. Liked it and is an option Any other suggestions. I'm a skinny guy and need something small.
  9. Or if you fished it on a crig. But yes, I do it quite a bit. I sit around thinking how to improve baits or develop new concepts. I've come up with a few good ones and some really really bad ones.
  10. Its all different kinds. When I pour I use the stuff in a tube for like 95 cents a can. people use different kinds. There is alot of preference in it. Some salts to suspend better and are clearer then others. That is the problem with salted baits. it kills the color.
  11. LOL, I had dominos pizza with italian sausage and a dr pepper for lunch. If I had a camera here I'd post a pic of it for you. I thought it was funny and figured you guys would too. Yeah right you guys cant get rid of me that easy.
  12. Well guys, I've decided to take a break from the forum for awhile. See ya all in about an hour or 2. ;D TGIF ;D
  13. My shorten version. A good wingman will jump a grenade for you and will also know when to excuse himself. A bad wing man will swoop in on you and take control. Like LBH said. Confidence is the key. I guess thats why I'm a good wingman. I dont have a problem with telling someone time to go. True story. My cousin and I stopped in a bar for a minute. This place was a hole. We werent there for more then 5 min and some "older women" 2x our age started hitting on him. Lets just say she wasnt attractive at all. (keeping forum clean). While I was cruising the dive I saw the look from him no words just the stare. So I proceeded over to where he was stuck and I interupted. I was like "Wazup". Well this is where it get bad/ignorant. I was doing my best being polite and not ignorant to get him out of it with a story on why we had to go, but She figured out what was going on pretty quick. In a real ignorant voice she said " Oh I guess you guys arent interested" my response was "Nope". I did clean this up for the forum. If you watch women do this all the time. Alot of the time it even goes unnoticed. I think it happens more then men do it. I do agree with Avid also. As far as the beer/drinks go. Not a good idea to over do it. Its just distastfull. Not saying anything wrong with a couple drinks when cruisin for chicks but good chicks dont like to hang around drunks in my experience. Good ones atleast. They dont want to get mixed up in that. If your there at a bar looking for chicks its a social game not a who can get hammered the best. Leave that one for catfishing with the buds. Always use a designated driver. This is also a very good scape goat to get out of bad conversations. Oh the DD is here gotta go.
  14. Shad- you have a good point. My question wasnt very well thought out. New question reworded I do not have much luck on bright colored jig skirts. Most of my fish come off colors like black, brown, dark greens. Do you guys have good success with whites, bright greens, yellows, charts etc.
  15. only lures that work or that are proven to work. Like RW, I dont go out anymore and buy stuff just to be buying lure. Yes I said it.
  16. I got the mold from a guy on another forum. I think its a bobstackleshack mold. If not it would be del mart mold. DP- freaking awsome baits, I really like the spidyman suit
  17. years ago I went shark fishing and all we used was cut bait. We were not fishing for anything big though. Caught a few about 15lbs or so. Just remember dont lip em ;D
  18. wow, that is freaking awsome. I'd love to catch one of those
  19. XL isnt a very good line for bait casters. Like RW said its more of a spinning line. You would probably like Yo Zuri line. It is tough and very abrasion resistant. If you want to stick with berkly XT is probably one of their better BC lines.
  20. Just to be clear, I meant that in a respectful manner.... If in fact you are an employee of Berrkley, you'll get a lot more feedback and better feedback by saying so than just "inquiring" about Berkley products in general. People would see it as an opportunity contribute to something meaningful... just promise me one thing- you won't change XT!! ...lol I gotta agree with you on that one Fletchero. Not sure on Glenns rules on this since its a major manufacturer but it would be cool to see a thing like you are talking about. Or a post of how could we improve or what would you like to see.
  21. You guys make some really awsome cranks. Very nice.
  22. My theory: companies that didnt have it in their line up had to find a way to bash it and slow the sales of it. I've fished braid for about 3-4 years now off and on. Last 2 years alot. Never an issue. The only thing I could see as an issue is if your rod had those cheap plastic or other real cheap guides. Do make your you lighten your drag if you switch to braid.
  23. Dont really have experience with them. I've sold some of them in retail but honestly pretty much the same answer as the Tackle. Dont use them. I'm a diehard loomis guy. I'm sure others will agree with that. Reels. Dont think I've ever seen one except pictures.
  24. I havent cleaned the mold up or the baits but I like it alot. I just poured those real fast to see what it looked like.
  25. For the most part I agree with you. But I also do believe in a few staple colors for certain water conditions. For example muddy water black and for clear brown. Every lake I've fished from MO to MI this has been pretty consistent for me. Throw a few greens like watermelon, and green pumpkin, white and you need nothing else imo. Those are the basic colors of natural colors in most bodies of water. There is one thing I have not figured out yet though. In muddy water slower presentations like plastics and jigs the majority vote is black or variations of it. But why on reaction baits do most anglers opt for bright colors? That is just one I cant figure out. Can a fish really see a difference in muddy water beyond a foot. I sure cant see the lure beyond a foot.
