  1. awsome baits dude.
  2. Yep, I hunt. Love deer hunting with a bow. Use to duck hunt but was too much of a hassle. I also varmint hunt, squrrel, turkey hunt.
  3. Last couple years I've been using lures made by members from here other forums. I gotta hand it to these members for making better baits then what I can buy off the shelf. I've spoiled myself with cranks/stickbaits and plastics to the point that I really dont fish alot of factory baits anymore. I have found that the hard baits run truer and work better and the plastics are noticably softer and work better imo. Thanks alot guys for the great baits.
  4. bandits and dd22's are my favorite. I did just get a few from Big M on here and I'm sure these are going to become my favorite. I like the way they work alot better then standard off the shelf baits.
  5. fish every good lake in the US Figure out why politicians are crooks and get away with it. Buy a M82A1 and a 3000 yrd range
  6. I forgot about the PR rods. Didnt even think about it. After reading RW's post there is a PR842s that I liked alot. I've got a BSR852 for my senkos and stuff. I also saw a green water rod on there but have no clue and never seen one. Liked the specs though. I like the thought of custom rod and might have to look into that more. But that might be more then a loomis not sure though. I've been looking at alot of them lately and ran across a 7'6" crankbait rod. I threw my buddies awhile back and it was awsome for dd22's. Nothing like a big crankin stick. More I think about it I migh have to buy 2 rods. I've saved up for a GLX but I could buy both those rods almost for the price of a glx. Its like 2 for 1 deal
  7. i'm in the market for another spinning rod. Not sure exactly what I want but here are the musts Loomis Approx weight range 1/8-3/16 prefer 7-7'4" Price. Doesnt matter What I will be using it for is shaky heads, drop shot, smallie fishing small baits. Little jigs. and finesse worms. Here is one I'm really looking at. http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/alltackle/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441760514&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032504&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1184087689738 Any other suggestions?
  8. So muddy did you watch the Yankee's game yesterday something like 13 innings. Pretty good game. Your thinking why did I watch it. Only thing on the channel I get. ;D
  9. I dont belive that, and from experience its not true. I can see both sides here. But I can also see the reason the catfish ones have lasted so long is that they are not put to the same use as the pike/musky rods. You might cast a catfish reel 50 times in one night. Musky reel, 500+ times a day. depending on how long you fish. There is alot of wear and tear that happens in a reel especially with fish of this nature. They are extremely hard on gear.
  10. awsome bait dude.
  11. Hey RW, you are more reliable then our weatherman here in central NC. He's right too. If you watch the weather for our area thats what they say pretty much everyday. RW did leave out one thing. Chance of thunderstorms best time is from 3-9 pm. I've been hearing that alot lately.
  12. Never ever fight with an idiot. They will pull you down to their level and beat you with experience. Since natural selection is not much of an issue for humans anymore we have to bear with this issue of sub-par intelligence. We are unfortunate that they always figure out how to breed.
  13. awsome. Whats the fins made out of?
  14. THat sucks big time. I hope they catch the crooks and hang them out to dry. Stories like this really tick me off. I hope in some way some how he can get those wheels fixed and get a couple rods and still fish. Was any major damage done to the boat itself?
  15. I'm getting ready to... ;D You showed him. LOL Can I give some constructive critisism on the fillet. I cant tell for sure but if your cutting that tail portion all the way off unless you like cooking with the skin. If you go to just about the end of the tail and flip the fillet up you can then use the flat board to cut the fillet from the skin. It works a whole lot better then trying to hold onto the skin and cut the fillet off it.
  16. Try barlows, stamina, or ztackle. One of those guys are bound to have it.
  17. Yep, exactly. I dont think they are even comparable. I hope you find one to compare and see the difference. Let us know.
  18. ruined that hook been there done that. Thats what cxx will do for ya almost always get your lure back. Make sure you cut about 5-10 ft of line off before you start fishing it again. CXX is super stong but you probably streached it out and it will start snapping on you if you try that again. Learned that one the hard way. :-/
  19. IMO, I've delt alot with the two and straight forward. Pay the 50-60 bucks and get the Avid. Its one heck of a good rod. I'm not a fan of the premiers that much. I'd much rather pay the little difference for a much better rod IMO.
  20. Did you bite him back?? :-?
  21. Best ways I found are a shakey head or drop shot.
  22. congrats. Nothing like catching fish off something you made. 8-)
  23. Haa haa, Still funny
  24. 2 Ways of over stressing a rod to breaking point Lifting fish into the boat Setting the hook with the rod to high in the air and over flexing the tip
  25. Anyone ever use them? I bought some for making me some jigs since I couldnt get the mustad ultra points for making some shakey heads
