  1. I agree with that Around here it is fairly easy because alot of our lakes are between 2 hills or flooded river channels. You can usually tell when you by the hills what type of structure is down there. We have alot of rock in our big lakes and actually alot in most of the smaller ones. We are a limestone state LOL. Anyway if you look at your above contours the underwater usually coincides. Sometimes you will have 2 hills and then a creek in the back of the cove. These are my favorite. The hills will touch somewhere and typically that is where the creek channel is too. Very good spot to fish.
  2. awsome pic Bobby.
  3. Like Raul said Target fishing. Fish the high percentage areas. What I mean is laydowns, brush piles, chunk rock, etc. Few casts to one and move. Play the percentages long enough and fast enough and it usually works out for a few fish. I dont do this often because I'm more of a slow fisherman. I like to cover a high percentage area in depth. I fish fast but slow if that makes any sence
  4. I usually get 2-3 rebends out of them before I snap the hook in 2. It also depends on how far the hook bent and where. I have yet to lose a jig fish or worm hook fish on a rebent hook. The time it will break for me is when I'm bending it back or get hung and try to pull it free.
  5. Delmart MF Lurecraft to list a few here is another topic on this very subject. http://www.tackleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10285
  6. Thats a good thing. There isnt any density between my wallet folds but there is alot of density between my ears.
  7. Yes I do keep fish but not often. I'm to lazy usually, its easier to throw them back. Now this year I've kept alot of crappie, gills. I dont think i've cleaned over 5 bass. Ask me sunday my answer might be different. I'm feelin a fish fry coming on.
  8. 1. you can use a microwave or hotplate. 2. I dont recommend it. I dont melt anything down anymore except one that I have poured and do not contain salt. Some of those favtory plastics hold water and or have other crap in them. The water will fizz and or pop that might splatter hot plastic and some of the plastics smoke really bad.
  9. this one right here is my next one for dd22's and like baits. I fished this rod and it is freaking awsome http://products.gloomis.com/gl/products/alltackle/detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441785870&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302032500&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181201&bmUID=1190308865366
  10. for smallies I typically use 1/4-3/16 head with a 4" tube or grub. I just cant use baitcasting tackle where I smallie fish. Just doesnt seem right for some reason. Rod 7'1" BSR glx Reel sustain 2000 Line 8lb fluro That is the smallie buster for me.
  11. Ya gotta weed through all the BS. I will admit as most know I am a huge loomis fan. Is there other rods out there in the same quality range. Yes there probably is. IMO if it aint broke dont fix it. I gotta go check out these topics. I havent looke in that area for awhile. Gotta keep the mods on their toes.
  12. Ooops, Sorry bout that Glenn. It was funny though.
  13. Figured as much from you. That would never sell anyway. ;D You did give me an idea though. Cutting a senko in half and putting a chompers top on it would be cool. only make them in dark colors. ;D
  14. Your not being funny are you. I know thats almost senko. If your not pullin my leg. So we are talking slim, fully round, and kinda like an anarexic senko. Same size as a bic pin? This is very doable and easy. I have an idea for this one already too. I like the thought here. BTW its not for sellin its for catchin.
  15. Gotcha and I just now thought of how to do it.
  16. Since its getting darker earlier I have some more free time. I decided I'm going to make a one of a kind lure but dont really know what I want to make. So I"m looking for some suggestions please. BTW it will be soft plastic.
  17. This is one thing I've always wanted to do. I saw some guys spear fishing for walleyes down in AR on bull shoals once. Freaking awsome.
  18. That would be a tough one. Probably a blk blue jig or a 4" green pumpkin tube.
  19. that reminds me of a lake I fish. This time of year those threadfin do that and there is thousands of them. Cool vid LBH.
  20. I'm staying out of this topic but doesnt suprise me. Thats all I got to say. :-X
  21. It's gonna be difficult to catch him again! ;D I think you will just have to try more.
