  1. Anyone here into using giant cranks in shallower water. Say 6-10 ft area? Next year this is what I'm going to focus on and will be throwing huge cranks bigger then dd22's, but dive shallower. They will be fished mainly in a stump field. These cranks will be approx 1+ oz. The main focus here is big fish holding in the area I will be fishing. As in big fish I'm referring 5-7 hopefully 8-10lbs. I'm really looking for some tips and tricks to do this. Also what lb line do you throw? I'm pretty much set on rod and reel.
  2. Anyone have one of these? I plan on putting it on a 7'6" CBR904 I think the number is. I'm looking for insight on how the reel handles big baits like a dd22 and bigger. Up to 1oz maybe 1 1/4 oz crankbaits? This reel wont be for little sissy cranks. BTW is the spool a deep spool or shallow spool? Thanks
  3. I'm a diehard loomis guy. I've never even seen a carrot stick. All I will say is watch out for the hype and marketing. I'm sure thats why you asked here.
  4. that is a really cool looking head.
  5. I really like it. That is about the only worm weights I use anymore. I can notice a difference in sensitivity. Throw braid in the equation and you can feel everything.
  6. Does reading forums count? If so I do.
  7. Well then I guess I will just have to make it happen. 8-) I know alot of the pics dont even show close to the detail in alot of those baits.
  8. Man I really hope that is a joke.
  9. See Man law section 1 article 4- No fruit in beer. Fruit is for 2 things, ice tea, and foo foo drinks. Budweiser is still KING.
  10. Its neat lookin thats for sure. I cant wait to see it in real life. Do you garantee a 9+lber on it LOL
  11. that is green on black isnt it? They look very good BigM
  12. That is freaking cool.
  13. Well, does that mean avid is out? Aren't you guys "twins from different mothers"? : Maybe same UPS man?? ;D ;D I vote avid as well. He cracks me up. I've enjoyed reading his 8k posts
  14. Most fisherman are bank beaters. Fish deeper water and catch bigger fish.
  15. Well, duh? However there is one exception. A fellow I used to hunt with (a lot) always bought Natural Light because NO ONE else would drink it! And believe me, NO ONE else would. Haa haa, Thats good. I like natty more then any of that low carb crap. Its not a choice if I'm buying though. I like good beer. Microbrews are some of my favorites because I just like trying different ones. I had some flying monkey awhile back. Not to bad. Reason I bought it was because it said Flying monkey.
  16. Amen to the Ole. No fruit allowed.
  17. Yep! LOL, Cold and free right RW. I'm a beer guy. I dont like any of that other stuff except captain or Jager. My beer of choice is probably good ol Sam adams or a tasty budweiser. The beer has to have taste. Not the watered down crap like bud light or ultra. Those are horrible the only exception is cold and free. If I'm buying its quality
  18. there are so many color combos. Its got to be worse then pouring plastics. I'll try and think of some cool ones and I just thought of one but I will have to post a pic of the lure to even explain it.
  19. Nope sure dont Big M. Sure dont. : I wonder if you put a white top then sprayed the green on if it would look different. Or maybe a black top then put the green on. I dont know anything about paint so that might be a bad idea. I would just think it would change the color of the top coat.
  20. Thats all you mudster. Why, Someone that loves to fish and has a fear of trolling motors is gotta win this award.
  21. LOL, I answered this question last night Needles
  22. LOL Brent. Knowing the laws is key. Light side down, dark side up for bottom baits. Why? matches the surroundings. Thats why fish have dark tops and light bottoms. Either way you look at them it helps them blend in. Same with craw tops. Honestly though a tube will spin some at times so it really doesnt matter.
  23. 8-10ft a deep diver?? Those ones you made for me are deeeeeep divers ;) Those dudes are freaking awsome. Very nice baits as usual. You have a great painting skill that is for sure.
  24. Catt, its a different jig. From the pic head tie area is different. Head shape is pretty much the same though.
