  1. The drop shot is designed for leaving in one place and shaking isn't it? I mean, that's the way I usually fish it. S_L_O_W_L_Y. I do move it a few feet before I move on to the next cast, but not much. Pick the spot that looks most productive, shake it up, and move on to the next one. Or make multiple casts to the same spot if the freaking Okie wind isn't howling.
  2. I caught a ton of fish on these in the 80's. Is anyone using the Manns Augertail worms lately? I'm thinking of digging out my stash and try them on a drop shot rig, or even back to the way I used to fish them....,with spinning tackle on a 1/16 oz. tex rig.
  3. Cost too much for this old timer.
  4. Here's what I've found.....Chigger Craws, Yum Craws, Net Bait, and most other "claw" dominate baits......and I have quite a few..."flap" their claws in an alernating action, i.e., one after the other. The Rage Craws 'swim', 'flap', 'roll', whatever you want to call it....but they do it together at once.....main difference. Now is this a bad diffrence? No. Each style has it's place. I personally prefer the alternating flap under most circumstances for my jig trailers, Rage Craws when the fish are really active during what we call here in OKla. warm water....hot for most of the rest of you. Rage Craws are awesome rigged tex-rigged alone. I've posted here before about all the different ways they can be fished this way......swim on top, swim sub-surface, hop, drag, etc. But for a jig trailer I prefer the alernating "flap" action.
  5. Citica.......or if youre looking for a deal on a reel.....well made and durable with a 100% no-questions-asked store return policy.....try the H20 Xpress Meddle reel at Academy Sports. Ive tried to backlash the ones I have and while it can be done, it's quite a task. Light t-rigs are great on these reels. But like I said, it's the same for the Citica as well. I also have no problems throwing light stuff on my Curado 200E models.

  7. Everytime I do it really, really makes me want to go out and fish. Like him or not.....he has a good program. Lots of info presented in an informative and captivating and professional manner. The new I-Phone/Pad App is really well done too. I've learned as much about bass fishing from ole Bill as probably any other angler on TV. Just sayin'.
  8. Well said WRB. I totally agree. He was a legend. Mr. Hannon will always be remembered as a great in the bass fishing world.
  9. Less than $100 invested. It is sensitive enough for 1/2 and 3/4 footballs, heavy carolina rigs, and makes a great deep cranking setup, which is what I actually set it up for. The Power Hump Grip is a perfect match to the round reel and is overall a comfortable rig to fish. 5500C3 w/Bass Pro Power Handle replacement spooled with 17lb. Trilene XL Bass Pro Tourny Special 7' Med/Hvy 3/8-1 1/2 oz. lure weight

  11. I use a mini screwdriver and a lighter. Amazing results! Also I use Super glue gel to turn the many one claw craws that I have into re-usable two claw craws.
  12. Anyone using it? Pros and cons please? I currently use YoZuri Hybrid Ultra Soft. Should I buy the Suffix 832 next time?
  13. Toothpicks and nail clippers to trim right against the top of the weight are my choice.
  14. Check the pics at Tackle Warehouse
  15. I fixed the picture. Right side up now. I am "hooked" (pun intended) on these products. Fish the Craws and Lizards mainly but this year will be throwing the Rooster, Eeliminator, Toad, Shellcracker, and Space Monkey also. RAGE On!!
  16. These are just the spares.
  17. I've used them rigged on a ball jighead, Swormin Hornet, keel weighted, weightless, and even on a shakey head. There doesn't seem to be a way to rig these that they won't catch fish. Amazing action! I use the 4.5 and 3.5 only. I like the Barfish and Magic Shad Colors most. Color really depends on water clarity, and what forage fish is primary. BTW.....the Baby version is killer for drop fishing boat docks for crappie.
  18. Makes a good spinnerbait, crankbait, rattle trap, etc. rod. Not sensitive enough for jigs and T-rigs in my opinion.
  19. A couple years ago there was a long thread here about scents and I followed it and contributed to it and decide that Upper Hand was the way to go. I based my decision on the fact that so many of the manufacurers use their scents in making their products, I purchased the garlic, crawfish, and hawg scents I think it was.
  20. It's a paste.
  21. Took an old Carmex jar, the very small one, and filled it half full with some cheap off brand petroleum jelly. Then I added garlic oil from Upper Hand Scents. I heated it in the microwave, stirred, added more jelly and more oil. Heated again, stirred, and skimmed it off even. I capped it and let it sit overnight, strong stuff. Now I have a scent that will stick to whatever bait I put it on and will most likely leave a trail. It smells exactly like a Lake Fork Live Magic Shad. I actually made this batch this way for the small crappie tubes, shad, and grubs I've been fishing lately. I figure a person could upsize the container for larger bass baits. I have two other formulas form Upper Hand that I may try this trick for bass.
  22. I put the torn, used up ones in my pocket and carry them home. Rage Craws I superglue claws back on, all others I beat a small mini Phillips screwdriver with a lighter and then use it like a soldering iron. Works real good and the more I do the better I get. I can usually get another days fishing from the repaired ones of each technique. Just don't start the habit of letting them collect up or you'll wind up with a huge pile and a time consuming job on your hands.
  23. You would have to begin posting on a catfishing forum.
  24. I know you have already gotten a Veritas but I'm going to go ahead and suggest the Falcon Bucoo Micro anyway. Wal-Mart carries them for $129 but you can get them brand new on Ebay all day for a $100 w/free shipping. I have several of them and they cast great, are very light yet tough, balnce is excellent with my Curados and Citicas, super sensitive, and they feel like the ratings that they are listed as. I do not use braid however, so I have no problems with the micros because I use YoZuri Hybrid Ultra Soft 12lb. test. I like all the Falcon rods and own several Lowriders and Caras too.
