  1. Thanks Dwight. It ain't Erie, but we do alright! One of these days I have to get up to Erie though, I see the pics you and others post on the internet and it makes me go
  2. A few more good shots from the past couple weeks. School has kept me from doing any serious fishing the past few days and I've been going nuts. I did get the last one the other morning before class. One more week to go...
  3. Put me down for "not". I did have a time back in the day when I felt I needed all of it. Got over that and couldn't be happier.
  4. What a slampig! Great pic!
  5. Thanks guys! I'll post some more if you guys like gazing at pretty smallmouth (I know I do!) Iceintheveins- You're right the Susky is a great fishery. I'd sing the praises of it everyday, but "loose lips sink ships," as they say. I think I offered before, but if I didn't, if your ever out this way, PM me. I'll put you on some slampigs.
  6. T- 4 inch tube on a 1/4 oz head, draggin' for smallies. The funny thing is that we have both caught fallfish in the same size class from the same river in previous years, without even knowing that we were flirting with the record.
  7. I'm a 2% guy. And I put half & half on my cereal!
  8. Got both 'round here. SM, no questions asked. The fight can't be beat, at least not by those green slug-bass!
  9. Wow. Great fish! But if you're talking about Switzerland when you say "here" then your're holding up a completely different species. The "chub" my buddy caught is a Semotilus corporalis, and is only found in N. America. If your are in Switzerland w/ that fish, and based on the picture, it looks like you have a Leuciscus cephalus, which grow much larger and is native to Eurasia.
  10. So my buddy and I are fishing one morning last week when he hooks what he at first thought was a good smallie. But when he raises it up we realize it the fattest fallfish (also known as "chubs") that we have ever seen! We didn't think much of it at the time, but we kept it because my buddy has a friend who wanted a carp/sucker/whatever for catfish bait. At the end of the day, my buddy throws it in his freezer and forgets about it. Long story short, a week later, my buddy looks up the state record fallfish for pooops and giggles, and sees that the old record is 3lbs 7 oz. :-? So he races home and hangs his on the scale: 3lbs 9 oz! We took it to a cetrtified scale, the state biologist, now all he has to do is get the paperwork notarized, send it in and wait! If every thing goes right, he'll be a state record holder! Heres the pic:
  11. Just a few pics from the past couple weeks. This is my first time posting pictures, so if I screw up, go easy on me!
  12. I like her hair. Just imagine a strip of her bangs hanging down to cover her nose and it looks like a medieval battle helmet. Which is fitting because she's there to pummel her guests.
  13. Even if it is legal in your state, I still advise that you don't do it. Last thing you need is some exotic species spreading some funky pet-shop fish virus around in your favorite hole. What if they establish a population and start competing with native species? Just some things to ponder.
  14. I feel although some have a knack for it, the vast majority of fishing is learned. Oh, and and anglers as athletes? : Lets not get carried away. I know guys who have the "endurance" to fish all day, but fall down wheezing after running ten yards. That ain't no athlete. If you can excell at your sport as you smoke a cigarette and drink a beer, I've got a hard time calling that sport "athletic." ;D I really feel that the "endurance" that is required to fish all day is more mental than physical.
  15. Use 3/0 to a 4/0 hook, that should help. You might still lose fish though. I don't t-rig tubes anymore because of all the fish I lost on them. I use jig heads. Never lose a fish now.
  16. Great sport! IF you like dishin' out hits you'll LOVE lacrosse> "The fastest game on two feet" I played midfield, still got alot of my stick skills too. Facing off is alot of fun, I used to know alot of dirty tricks.
  17. Like all these guys said, stop worrying about color. Tie on something thats in the ballpark of "natural" (greens, browns, whites, silvers, etc) and you'll most likely be on the right track.
  18. What about Butter-Face Shad? Or She's-a-Ten-at-Two Shad? Last-Call Shad? Closing-Lights Shad? Couple-More-Beers-and-I-Would Shad. I could go on and on.
  19. What! Thats a smallmouth if I've ever seen one. Look at how small it is! It's mouth is tiny! .....
  20. Catfish John John The Fisherman Bagely Booyah Bagely (first and middle) Bill Dance Terrance (T-rig for short) Sammy
  21. Yo Zuri ZZ POP Black JitterBug Buzzbait
  22. So if it worked by helping you to catch twice as many fish in half the time you still wouldn't buy it?!??!?! : A seine net would help me catch ten times that amount of fish in a tenth of the time. I won't use one of those either. : Call me old-fashioned, but I get satisfaction by tricking a fish with a lure, not a battery-operated electronic device. I'm not knocking anyone who does, it just ain't for me. Sometimes it ain't about the destination, but rather the road you take to get there.
  23. I would never buy this bait, regardless if it works or not. A lure with lazer beams? C'mon. Do we really need this? What's next? Crankbaits equipped with GPS and bass-seeking torpedo's? Electro-shock jerkbaits? No batteries in my baits, thank you.
  24. Rod power? Or action? They're two different things. For tubes and grubs I'd go with medium power, fast action. I use 6# p-line cxx. Tried braid a few times in my river and it's nothing but a nightmare.
  25. Good looking p-seed. Happy to see he's "regular." ;D
