  1. Couldn't pass this deal up: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp;jsessionid=EYCTYJCX101B5LAQBBKCCOFMCAEFKIWE?type=pod&id=0042540&_requestid=54317 It doesn't come with the boxes, but I have a ton of them already. I'll still get the vest too. Maybe they'll pop up in the bargain cave soon.
  2. Greetings from Flyer's Country. Boston is for real this year, no doubt about it. IMO, Chicago is the biggest suprise for me this year. Nice to see them back from being in a coma forever. BTW, did you catch the Winter Classic game yesterday?
  3. Which do you prefer? I'm leaning towards the backpack, Cabela's has a good deal going on right now. But a vest looks like it might be the ticket also. Opinions?
  4. Another vote for Pflueger. I find them extremely well made. A rare case of getting MORE than you paid for.
  5. Baked ham, mashed potatoes, corn and steamed broccoli with garlic. Oh yeah, hot biscuits too. We always eat pork in some form on New Years day, supposed to bring luck for the year. Oink Oink.
  6. I'm still fishing, I just miss catching the d*mn things !!
  7. My kids got me "Hooked on fishing" earlier this year. It's kind of hokey but I have fun with it just the same. Wii Carnival is another we had a blast with, along with the Wii sports that came with the system.
  8. I own Pflueger spinning reels, which I love. My only beef is when I get into a baitcaster later this year, Pflueger's offering of left handed models is pathetic. Not available on the Patriarch or Summit, only available in wide spool on the President. That leaves me with the Supreme, which looks to be a decent reel, but come on, they gotta do better than that. Don't make me say the "S" word......
  9. Yup, this site rules. I've learned a ton my short time here. In fact, I learn something new everytime I log on. Can't wait until spring to actually apply some of that knowledge . The added bonus is the characters here. Never a dull moment Hats off to Glenn, Roadwarrior, Fivebass, LBH, Ghoti and the rest of you. Looking forward to many more years ahead.
  10. Uh oh, now you went and did it Hit the dirt!!......... INCOMING!!

    Worm Bed

    http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1230333134
  12. If you have the room, make a compost pile. All the worms you want, although they disappear about late October around here. Use grass clippings, leaves, anything organic. Add in kitchen waste like eggshells, coffee grounds, fruit rinds, stale or moldy bread, etc. Add cornmeal, the worms love it. Compost piles don't stink either, you just have to "turn" them over every week or so. (use a pitchfork) DONT add meat scraps or bones, dog crap or anything like that. Then it will stink, attract critters you don't want and add harmful bacteria to the compost, which can damage any plants you may put the compost around.
  13. Not showing any lefty Pflueger baitcasters this year either :-?
  14. Cold meatloaf sandwich with ketchup. Leftovers from last night's dinner. Yummmm.
  15. Long Mike - What IS that thing in your avatar? Is that a jar of pickled eggs or something like that? It's creepin' me out
  16. I crapped MY pants from laughing...
  17. I'm a Vikings fan here DEEP in the heart of "Iggles" country (how it's pronounced here ) . I thoroughly enjoyed the a-- whuppin' they put on Jerry's kids. That being said, too bad their season ends next week in Minnesota :'(
  18. More canidates for the "Be tossed in a pit, soaked with gasoline and set ablaze" games......
  19. John Bobbit just got arrested for getting a little too frisky with a dancer at a "gentleman's club" He was charged with assault with a dead weapon. :-X
  20. Got all mine for when I sell my stuff on Antiques Roadshow for a fortune ;D
  21. I'm with ya. Between guys like that and what seems to a trend of people keeping every single fish they catch (food?) our sport is getting killed. Do the words "replica mount" mean anything?
  22. Just asking. I just started fishing braid and so far I like it a lot. It's no big deal to spool up my spare spool with mono for when the situation calls for it. I'm learnin' here, so explain why I shouldn't use braid on cranks.
  23. Can you run cranks with braid ? I know braid floats, which in my case might not be such a bad thing because of the shallow water I fish alot. For example, if I'm running a DT4, would the braid keep it closer to say, 3' ? Any effect on the action ? Leader or no leader ?
