    Tubes

Venom is a good one. When the conditions call for finesse, Strike King's 2.5" Bitsy Tube is a killer.
  2. Well said. Now if I could find that &%$@* time machine.......
  3. :'( That's about it for me too :'(
  4. As a guy who makes his living as a marine (diesel) mechanic, let me tell you these myths about maintenance and proper break in procedures are just a bunch of bull.....go ahead and run 'em full bore :
  5. Are these the aqueducts everyone films car chase scenes in ? I assume they are off limits to the public ?
  6. ...but are off limits for whatever reason. Mine is a pond that sits in between the North and South lanes of the Garden State Parkway at milepost 4 outside of Cape May, New Jersey. This isn't the Turnpike and refinery part of Jersey everyone knows, it's actually rural. For those not familiar with the Parkway, it's a major toll road that runs pretty much all of the Jersey coast. You can't park anywhere on it and it is heavily patrolled by state police. The pond is not big, but it's got bass written all over it. A few fishing boat captains I know who grew up around there tell me they used to sneak there as kids and fish it at night. They all said it was awesome. Bass that had never seen a lure would crush anything that hit the water. NO, I've never fished it and don't plan to. I'm not suggesting anyone break the law. I just can't help but think "what if" every time I drive by.... : Anyone else have a similar spot ?
  7. I've got them from 2.25" to 2.5" diameter. Tough to find these sizes at the local hardware store If you Google "washer games", you'll find plenty of ideas. The washers can be purchased online. I've seen fancy ones with powder coated paint jobs, college team logos, etc.
  8. Ex NBA star Charles Barkley nailed it a few years ago. An interviewer was giving him the third degree about something he allegedly had done and said something along the lines of "but you're a role model" Barkley snapped back that he was NOT anyone's role model. That was the job of parents, teachers, etc. Regardless of what you think about him, he was right.
  9. That thing got an automatic washer return ?
  10. Thoughts and prayers. Being burned has got to be one of the worst things ever. I'll bet they would make an awesome catfish bait. Would probably be hard to lose off of the hook also.
  11. From the previous link: "The American Cornhole Association was established by a small group of dedicated Cornholers from the west side of Cincinnati, Ohio." Sorry Stripes, someone had to do it. Anyway, my nephews have what you described, I have not played yet. Thanks for the info.
  12. Is he toilet trained yet ?
  13. Is that the one with the plywood surface that has three holes, and you toss beanbags at it ?
  14. Who plays ? I know there are many variations of this game. My setup is the wooden boxes with the 4" PVC pipe in the center. We set them 25' apart. Each player gets 4 colored washers. Scoring is as follows: In the box = 1 point Leaner anywhere in the box = 2 points In the cup = 3 points Opposing colored washers in the box - closest to cup gets the point Play is to 11 or 21 points, depending how long you want to play. A good way to pass the time waiting for your team's turn at horseshoes. Also a good game for the little ones who can't quite throw shoes yet.
  15. I read a good tip on another forum that fits well with this thread - wrap the rod inside foam pipe insulation before putting inside the PVC tube. This protects the rod and guides from rattling around inside the PVC during shipping.
  16. Sweet Jesus T-rig, that is far and away the biggest yellow I've ever seen !! Is that unusual for even you, or can you find them like that often ?
  17. Don't be overwhelmed by all of the stuff out there. Keep it simple. I'd suggest reading up on and mastering the rubber worm to start. Probably one of the most versatile baits there is.
  18. Yo - Zuri has the "Pin's Minnow" in several different sizes. They have an internal chamber with steel balls. Inertia forces the balls to the rear of the chamber on casts, which increases distance, then they rattle on retrieve.
  19. Rule # 1: When the fish hits, DO NOTHING !.....until you feel the weight of the fish on your rod. Then set your hook(s). Rarely will you get one on a steady retrieve. I usually cast, a couple of cranks and a pause. Repeat this pattern. I get a lot of strikes on the pause. Another thing, upgrade the hooks. Stock Jitterbug hooks are crap.
  20. Uh Oh, posting of pinup violation............. Happy Independence day everyone . Be safe. Remember to throw those cherry bombs immediately after lighting them.
  21. When I lived in Jersey, I fished a place called the "Sand Pits" which consisted of several small ponds. Roger
  22. I see it every year on one of my lakes. I see it earlier in the season, about mid March into April. Otherwise it's a healthy body of water. I don't know what causes it, but turtles gotta eat too.
  23. I hope he gets the record. Then Mr. Perry can rest in peace while this guy gets roasted for the next 75 years
  24. Earl Scruggs and.........Steve Martin ?!
  25. White. It contrasts better.
