  1. That pretty much sums it up. And yes, I actually own one Go elsewhere online and read the reviews if you're not sure.
  2. A majority of individual state record fish go back decades, the most notorious being Mr. Perry's in 1932. Chalk one up for out of date crap gear.
  3. If you are that worried about it, put a coat of car wax on it. I'm not kidding.
  4. Gotcha...thanks RoLo - Frogg Toggs may be a better option for Fla. as they breath and are ridiculously lightweight. The only place they don't do well is when you are crashing through the brush as they tear easy. The plastic ponchos are like saunas.
  5. I found an old Hula Popper that had been out in the weather for so long the split rings and hooks all but disintegrated. It's one of my best baits now. I made no attempt to clean it up, just new hardware. I just might grab a few baits on sale at the end of the season, strip the hardware and hang 'em on my fence for the winter.....
  6. I do quite well with my Pfluegers, Tru Turn Hooks, 7" ribbontail worms and Trilene XL. Oh, and don't forget the ultra light rig. BLASPHEMY!!! I fish in a leaky jon boat. The only thing electronic on it is the motor. My most expensive piece of gear is my Avid rod.....
  7. Mom's genius shines through on this quote from the article: Well duhhhh, I guess it is putrid. It's a sewer, stupid
  8. Hang tough. We'll be here.
  9. As with cars, electronics and most other goods : Stay away from the first generation of any new technology. Be patient. Price comes down, quality goes up. Buying anything solely because a "pro" uses it is stupid.
  10. Go back at night. You'll think you're at a different lake.
  11. I can't remember what I did an hour ago. :-[
  12. Ha! Boston Terrier. We have one. Cool dogs.
  13. Ask for lots of extra napkins.......
  14. ACTION movies Mook, not Waction.....
  15. Just about any eighties Arnold or Chuck Norris flick. *edit* except Terminator
  16. No, it doesn't really glide or anything like that. Sometimes a "do nothing" bait is what's needed. Brewer wanted to duplicate small minnows that kind of dart around in short little bursts. The flat tail barely moves at all. Easy food for predators. I've seen my fishing partner catch literally dozens of nice bass over the years on them. I should fish them more but I don't.
  17. Don't limit yourself to one type of bait. Sometimes when the Jitterbug won't produce, a slowly popped Hula popper or a Rapala will get the job done.
  18. I'm still on the fence about braid and I'm teetering more and more back toward mono......
  19. Not sure of the fine here in Joisey, but equipment confiscation is within their power. Have also heard stories of illegals being let go, as they can't (won't) produce ID. Too much trouble for the wardens, as the INS would be involved eventually. I love paying taxes >
  20. can you explain what slider is. cause i never heard of it and would like to know thanks Basically small (4") worms rigged on a special weighted hook. It's a finesse presentation, best done on spinning gear. Check this out, it explains a lot: http://www.***/articles/charlie-brewer-slider-worm.shtml
  21. My buddy kills 'em with sliders. I've done OK, but never really got into it.
