  1. One thing they did early this season was discourage Carcillo from enforcing and wanted him to work more on his forward posistion. Sometimes I swear he has clown shoes on instead of skates. Let him enforce. If he were back shoring up the defense, especially with Pronger out, it may help our situation. He's a better goon than forward, we have enough offensive weapons. It broke my heart to watch them get beotch slapped like that the other night That aint Flyer hockey. Like the late, great Fred Shero said, "If you don't want to see blood on the ice, go watch the Ice Capades"
  2. Actually, Bouch is like about 80% of NHL goalies. Streaky, not bad overall but prone to bad runs. He's not the worst by far, certainly not the best. He just highlights the fact that true Hall of Fame caliber goalies are few and far between. Only Flyer fans likely remeber this, but Bobvrosky was the talk of the NHL back in October when he was on fire. The fire since died out. He's young and has a lot to learn but the potential is there. We'll see in a few years.
  3. Rumour has it that if Bobvrosky starts to get smoked early on, they're gonna pick a random fan to try out in goal....
  4. thaATs wuNderfool. he SPels mOr gOOder then MosT ov uS. nOW weRe DId i pUt mY Hoked on FOniX bOok ?.....
  5. The Trion....my first Flooger and still as smooth as the day I got it. If they dumped that stupid rosewood handle it would be perfect.
  6. Back on the 25th of last month I ordered a set of Frogg Toggs rain gear to keep stashed in my kayak. I've seen the site around for years and they have a toll free number. The set I wanted was in stock with free shipping, so I ordered. I get an e-mail confirmation, everything looks ok. So here we are on the 3rd of this month and no package...hmmmm what's going on here. I bring up the site and call the number, it just rings and rings. I notice the address, it's Guntersville, Alabama, one of the worst hit areas from last week's tornadoes. That explains nobody answering. Shipping a rainsuit is the last thing on anybody's mind right now (rightfully so) For all I know the building is leveled. I got in touch with my bank to see if I can get my debit card credited. I explained the situation and I'll have an answer within a week. It's under $50 so it's not the end of the world.
  7. I understand, I was just venting. I'm glad they did not take him alive. That would mean lawyers, riots wherever he was held, appeals, delays, etc. It would not have been fair to the victim's families. I'd like to think they (the Seals) all peed on him before unceremoniously kicking him out of the chopper into the ocean. No doubt he stunk from crapping himself in his final moments. I hope his virgins all look like him...Virgin Wool comes from ugly sheep
  8. In case you aren't familiar with it, Mend It is a glue designed specifically for repairing soft plastics. Yes, keep the damaged ones aside for repair or use parts from different ones and create your own.
  9. Why the concern with Islamic custom and disposing of the body at sea within 24 hours ? Those mongrels sure didn't show any respect on 9/11/01 They should have hung his dead arse from a pole and let the vultures have at him for all of the world to see on a live video feed. Then feed him to dogs. Don't lecture about how "we don't do that" or "that's stooping to their level". I don't want to hear it. Somewhere in the world is a Navy Seal with the mother of all stories...
  10. Either solder the crack shut or tie the hook on, cut the line above the knot and slide the knot over the crack to fill it. Then tie on as usual.
  11. All I know is unless the Flyers handle rebounds and loose pucks better, they're gonna have a tough time. Some of Laviolette's matchups against the B's lines had me scratching my head. Don't even get me started on rattled goaltenders... BUT, gotta give the B's their due, they played a good game. Having Thomas between the pipes makes it that much tougher on us.
  12. Not quite on the scale of the previous stories, but last year I'm loading my kayak on top of the car after a days fishing. I had just slid it into the roof racks when a huge gust of wind blew it right off of the roof. It landed rightside up on the blacktop. Had a nice sized crack on the topside - the energy from the impact traveled through an internal support tube. No cracks on the bottom. Repaired it with some polyethylene plastic welding rod and a small torch. It has a nice battle scar but still solid and watertight.
  13. Now that's a real fisherman - will clear a path through brush to save a day. Nice payoff for your troubles AND a cool beer story to boot.
  14. Sharpen the hook or get a new spinnerbait.
  15. Pretty much the same for me. I realize many will stitch a jig an inch at a time, but I never got bit that way. Sometimes in deeper water I'll snap the rod tip to make it jump and it gets hit on the fall.
  16. It's been said already and it's worth repeating : Slobber like a dog on the line before you cinch your knot THEN inspect it. For example, if you use a Trilene or clinch knot and the coils are not stacked neatly, it's not right. If there is a bulge or something looks out of place, retie it. Detail is everything, it's gotta be perfect. A lot of heat and friction are generated tying a knot, wetting is crucial.
  17. Bullseye. It's been years since I tore into a big bowl of mudbugs. I just may have to make a trip to Cap'n Cat's Seafood to get me a big bag...
  18. If you are running Widows, go to the start menu and click on "Control Panel" Once there, double click the "Ease of Access" icon. Within there is "Make the Computer Easier to See". You can change the font or activate a magnification feature.
  19. I e mailed Strike King twice about a minor issue I had with some of their cranks (not a breakage issue though) Never got a reply to either of them.
  20. Caps fan eh ? You and the rest of them should get on a spaceship
  21. See 'em ??? Man, I'm drivin' 'em
  22. Cult following...heheheh...no different here. Many former Flyers, Phillies and Eagle players stay in the area here after their careers are over. The Flyers players are by far the most approachable, followed by the Phillies. Most of the football and basketball players here wouldn't pee on you if you were on fire. Walk up to any current or former Flyer and they'll talk with you and give your kid an autograph without shaking you down for $40. Every year the Flyers host the "Flyers Wives Fight for Lives" charity carnival at the Wachovia Center. It's a sellout every year. Middle age women around here are some of the most rabid Flyers fans I've ever seen. Talking hockey with a knowledgeable 55 year old housewife....only in Philly
  23. If our legs bent the other way, what would a chair look like ?
  24. I think you need to go lay down for a while. The heat must have gotten to you...
  25. If you're all out of pop in Michigan, you could always drink 'wadder' If you're out of soda in New Jersey, you can drink 'wooder'
