  1. I use a tiny tipped syringe I got from a hobby shop and inject the grease into my bearings. I apply from both sides to ensure coverage. I've seen tiny bearing packers that are used by RC guys for their wheel bearings. The syringe has done ok for me.
  2. As in "Ted Williams" the baseball player ? Was he a hardcore fisherman enough to have a reel named for him ?
  3. One of these I use for smallmouth and panfish Yeah - they're not bad for their era...they still land fish for me. I've got one that I might finally retire and it will end up on eBay one of these days. There is actually collector interest iin these reels and they will sell if they're in reasonable cosmetic condition. Not me. My basement is the black hole of fishing gear. Stuff goes in and never leaves.

  5. What's the oldest reel you fish with still ? Not one you keep for sentimental value, but one you still take out most every time ? I myself just put a 4 year old Pflueger Trion onto backup status. Not a thing wrong with it at all, I replaced it with a Supreme. I know 4 years isn't squat, I want to here about 10 + year old reels still going.
  6. The laws of physics apply to everyone. The "safer" they keep building cars, the stupider most drivers get. I guess it's a wash... :-/
  7. I own one. A 2009 Revo STX. No complaints.
  8. There's countless psychos out there that would love to talk to him. Better be careful next time you flip off someone for texting while driving. They could be getting orders from him...
  9. No never. Just use a good oil on the bearings. About the only place you really need to grease is a little on the gears. You CAN grease internal chassis bearings if you like without any impact on casting.
  10. I've fished regular tubes unweighted and they will float quite a bit before taking on water and slowly sinking. At times it's absolutely deadly. Steady twitching, or a twitch and a pause or do nothing in choppy water and let the ripples work it for you. Try different ways until you hook up.
  11. Sorry, can't name just one. Here's part of Dazed and Confused http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oxiTKkEcXM&feature=related ...1:30 Jimmy gettin' down with the fancy footwork ;D This Royal Albert Hall show from '70 is them at their peak IMO. Jimmy is on fire, Bonham and Jones are monsters. The Song Remains the Same pales in comparison.
  12. Hey Quake - you reel spinners right handed ? I've never seen that. BTW, nice reel. I got the 25 size last August from Cabela's for the same price. You know it's got a carbon drag don't you ?
  13. First, are you 100% sure the ecu is the problem ? When you buy an electrical item, you own it whether it fixes the problem or not. Most parts sellers state plainly "No returns on electrical items" The ecu's I deal with on marine diesels have to be programmed to the engine serial #. There is no such thing as buying one off the shelf ready to go. Putting the wrong ecu on with different inputs and outputs could lead to big trouble. I don't know if outboards are this way but it would pay to check into it thoroughly.
  14. Cabela's hands down.
  15. There's always the NHRA.
  16. Yeah, the same bilgerat who has to get his 12 year old daughter to show him how to do things with the computer...
  17. It's not fair to put a boater against a non boater. The person with the boat can access a lot more water than a shore fisherman. ...and a guy with a $50,000 bass boat with SI/DI has an advantage over someone with a 12' jon boat with a 25lb thrust TM. ...and a guy who has the ability to fish everyday has an advantage over weekend warriors. ...and live bait out produces artificial. ...and private waters out produce public waters. ...and so on. Life isn't fair my shorebound friend ;D I've caught my 2 biggest smallmouth from shore and my biggest largemouth in less than a foot of water. The contest should be simple and to the point. Don't forget. Someone is going to have to keep track of the entries, and one person needs to have the final word. If shore fishing was just as good as boat fishing, the Pro's would shore fish at the Classic. If you have a boat you can access alot more water, and have a better chance of catching fish, let alone big fish if you can travel the whole lake, and fish the middle of it. And I like the Number in the pic Idea though 8-) And whats an AMI calculator? October of 2009. My buddy is shore fishing in sideways rain during a 'Noreaster (we can debate his sanity later) He pulls a LMB that could have been a new state record. Half a mile through the woods on foot, no way to keep the fish alive. He released it. Don't tell me you need a boat to catch quality fish. What do most guys do when they finally get out on the water ? Beat the bank.
  18. Way to christen the 'wick You have no idea how jealous I am. So how did the rod behave during the fight ?
  19. .....ya want me to do your taxes also ??
  20. It's easy. Transfer all photo files to a winzip compression format and then close out the proxy server. Upload to a temporary non - host third party site. Serialize the usb hub to a flash drive multimedia outletgjbcjefhwehxuwefklege,vnfvnkjn^&%%^$vXDJK566548543186745 ;D ;D
  21. Now that's some funny shat there...
  22. I went with cheese. I really thought the AFC was going to run away with it all earlier in the season but the Pack is looking pretty good to me now.
  23. Here ya go : http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Fishing-Reels/Spinning-Reels%7C/pc/104793480/c/104760180/sc/104837580/Pflueger-Supreme174-Spinning-Reel/739161.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-fishing-reels-spinning-reels%2Fpflueger%2F_%2FN-1102842%2B1000004297%2FNe-1000004297%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104837580%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104793480%26WTz_st%3DGuidedNav%26WTz_stype%3DGNU&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104793480%3Bcat104837580 $15 rebate. Free shirt (you pay shipping) and I'm not 100% sure, but Supremes used to come with a nice cloth reel bag in addition to the spare spool. All of my Supremes came with bags. My XT had a padded neoprene one.
  24. Tubes rule. You should keep some smaller ones also for those times they don't want to go big. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_90784_100007006_100000000_100007000?cmCat=CROSSSELL_THUMBNAIL There really is no wrong way to fish a tube. I've even used them as jig trailers.
  25. I don't carry full bags of my plastics. I get small 'snack size' ziplock bags and carry 5 to 6 of each bait to a bag. After carefully putting the baits inside so they're not bent, I roll the bag up like a cigar. I can carry quite a decent array of plastics without crowding my tackle bag. I leave the original bags at home with the remaining baits and restock the ziplock bags as needed. I also carry an extra ziplock for torn baits to be repaired later.
