I agree with most of what was said already. I have a problem with team owners demanding public money to fund new stadiums under the threat of taking the team elsewhere. The cities usually cave in, yet when the place is built you can't afford to take a family to the event.
The fans of all major sports have been treated like dirt for decades, but they keep asking for it and the owners gladly shove it in further and further....
Some of my biggest fish have come on the smallest baits in my box. The most extreme example was a 4 lb I got on a 2" Senko. Two years ago I lost a BEAST on a 4" tube.
I read somewhere years ago that on average the size of most bass forage is in the 2" to 3" range. Of course there are exceptions, the swimbaiters prove that.
You need to be where the big ones are. They're not going to come from the other side of the lake because you are fishing for them.
Agreed on the big black Jitterbug. Big ones will crush them at night. Just be sure to change the crap stock hooks.
He should 'moon' them from his window just to see the reaction. He has more than enough $$$ to throw bail....
Remember when rock stars would destroy hotel rooms and launch TV's out the window ? The Who were banned from ALL Holiday Inns back in the 70's
one thing about the portable units, atleast in my opinion is they make for a more personal experience if that makes sense. besides the ninja fishin aspect i love being able to get into the meat & potatos of the slop/pads where only the portables can go
i just lift my TM and oar deep into the pads
Yep. That looks like one of the lakes I fish. Love that 'toilet flush' under a frog bait out there in the pads

How will kids shred the roof of their mouth now ?
Another childhood tradition going away :'(
I've heard very good things about the River Runner. Have you gotten to play with it much yet?
Twice. First time I was catching crappie and they were biting VERY light, but I felt the slightest taps (using braid) Last weekend I got my first bass of the year, 3 lb. + on a Strike King 1/8 oz. crankbait. This rod whips light baits a mile but has serious backbone.
Unless you're fishing from the bank with lots of trees and brush around you, 5' 6" will be too short to get good casting distance. I would go with 6' minimum, 6' 6" would be better.
If Shimano doesn't have that size, your other alternative at your price point is the Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite lineup. Not a bad rod for around $45.
There really isn't much middle ground with ultra light. They're either cheap or over $100.
Make sure your drag is in top condition. Critical with UL.
Learning reel maintenance on your front line gear is a bad idea. Do that with beater reels during the winter if you want to learn. This close to nice weather is no time to be waiting on the springs you lost to come in the mail, only to find you can't get it back together anyhow.
Take RW's advice.
Lightweight magnesium, spare spool, carbon drag, neoprene reel bag, one of the best bails out there, smooth as silk........you can't go wrong.
Heck, I think Pflueger is giving out shirts too. Check online to download an order form.
The rod itself is an important consideration. If it's too heavy, it won't load the bait properly and casting will be difficult. Line choice (braid, mono, fluro) will factor into this also.
That being said, I've thrown unweighted tubes (heavier ribbed flipping tubes) a good distance with My Falcon LowRider MH and a '09 Revo STX (spooled with 12 lb Sufix Siege mono). Actually spinning is the way to go with baits such as this.
Probably a mom that was sick and tired of the kids tearing apart the bags to get to the toy inside.
Do they still put toys in cereal boxes ? The fights in my house when we were kids....
Being that I fish from a kayak and we got rid of our Ford Explorer and got a Honda, I'd say I'm in pretty good shape.
I guess I should mention there are only two inland bodies of water in New Jersey that allow gas engines, and they are limited to 9 hp and below.
:D That's friggin' hilarious. Once my buddy and I were on our way home from fishing. I had beer and hot wings in me from the night before. All of the sudden the 'urge' came upon me. I started yelling "Dave, pull over NOW!!" The truck wasn't even stopped all of the way and I was out the door and into the woods.
