  1. I have a Zillion and a Revo STX. As most I had trouble setting the drag on the Revo but with the Zillion none whatsoever. I really do not know the differance between the two but I have never a problem with the Zillion. Also have a Browning and JM SIgnature with the magnetic dual brakes. The Zillion was much easier to set then those also. IMO you may discover the same.
  2. There is another hole around the bend that lacks rocks but does have a sand bottom. I plan on working this hole also. there is a slightly shallower hole just before this hole where another river which has a muck bottom dumps into it. Did not locate anything there. The water temperature is roughly 50-58 degrees so I am sure they are in a transitional period.
  3. We found a hole about 12-16 feet deep that held some smallies and walleye with rock structure. Flow is not too fast. Visiblity is about 1-2 feet. Caught a 26 and 28 inch walleye and a few smallies on crankbaits running about 10 feet. I am sure this holds more smallies and probably bigger that the 12 inch fish we caught. Was thinking about a C-Rig Tube to search but was wondering if anyone else has ideas. We will hit this hole Sunday so input would be appreciated.
  4. By my experience it depends on the Bass and what they perfer. As an example I threw a Brush Hog under a weedy dock which I was sure held a Bass cast after cast to no avail. Changed up to a Senko and on the first cast a 4 pounder hit it. Maybe the shape or maybe the sink rate? Sometimes they will tell you what they want.
  5. My fishing partner and I caught N. Pike up to 28 inches on a UL Ice Fishing rod. It can be done.
  6. That's just plain mean, thanks for the heads up.
  7. I am on my way, can you put me on them? Wow great fish. We have smallies in the rivers down in Illinois but rarely will you ever hear about any that size.
  8. I have one and it seems to be a good rod. My observations are that they are stiffer then most for the action as compared to say G Loomis so keep that in mind. Also the handles get can get a bit slick when wet, hopefully with use they will rough up. Other then that a good sensitive rod at a fair price. It also looks sweet with my Zillion Reel mounted on it.
  9. X2, I agree
  10. If it's not a soup bone who cares.
  11. This not funny that hurts.
  12. No idea what he said but a sweet realistic bait for sure.
  13. Wow thanks Muddy, I have not heard this in a while. I was diggin it!!!!!!!!! Right on MAN
  14. Baitcasting, I learned to fish with one and my lure placement is superior with it compared to spinning.
  15. I own a Code and an Abu Garcia Pro Max which is similair to the S. For my money I would go with the S. Casts much better and seems better built to me.
  16. Welcome Aboard Lee, I use to live in Aurora and was 10 minutes from the Fox. Use to fish it every evening. Now I live in Frankfort and consider Pondo my home lake. Fishing was good there this year, had 30 fish days and my laergest was 4lb 6oz there. If any of you N. Illinois guys Ice Fish there is a charity Ice Fishng Tourney every year. Its called Walk on Water, maybe we can get together there and represent BR.
  17. Good luck Ike, stay positive and all will go well.
  18. 15 # CXX is great line and wil what I prefer. I also use 15# Big Game which is much cheaper.
  19. T-Rigged Lizard. At least that is what I caught my top 5 bass on.
  20. Never heard of her but sounds sweet. Still did not cheer me up enough though so I guess I'll go fishing.
  21. I believe it was in In-Fisherman that I read the darkness of the Bass is based on the Sunlight it recieves. This said the merkier the water+less light peneration the lighter the Bass. Much like a tan. Helps to identify the depth the Bass stage at also due to light penetration. The deeper they are the lighter they are.
  22. No thanks I have my own.
  23. I would also be open for a meet and greet, maybe we can plan our own tournament.
  24. Muddy, don't sweat it. If you have a 4.0 GPA going in one class is not going to kill you. Focus on passing.
