  1. Interesting, it is ironic how as you age you take the time to go fishing as you tend to slow down and come to realize the importance of just chilling out. Sometimes age and wear and tear will slow you down. Just being out helps me to relieve the daily stress. Oh the joint pain, tends to bother you more as you set behind a desk, much less being active. Even if you do not fish I guess it is much more important to just stay active. Being young you just take that for granted as getting around is much more fliud. By no means am I an old man being 49 but d**n it I just refuse to get old. 1) Modify casting style so joints do not become stressed, ie under hand, side arm, using both hands and casting with either arm. 2) Better boat positioning so you squat less to cast under a over hanging tree. 3) Slow down and enjoy get rid of that stress. Much harder to manage as you age. Hopefully the Young Guns will take heed to this, we are not complaining just enjoying. Take what we learned.
  2. d**n, I just checked the link, it looks like I need a few other colors. :-/
  3. I have a 29.5 Walleye mounted on may office wall using this bait. (No not Canada here in Illinois). I have caught numerous Bass and Northern Pike fishing for Bass in deep clear water suspending above weeds. This bait excels suspending over weeds. As you tick the weeds rip and suspend they will wack it. I have about every color made of these. I guess they are a good bait and love the price. They work well adjusting depth by line weight. Does not seem to effect action like some smaller baits when moving up in line weight to run shallower. They do not tend to hang up like other baits.
  4. Big Baits= Record Small Baits= Revo Variable is up to you. As you are a Florida Guy I think maybe Record for BIG swim baits for them big bass. Me I would get the Revo, still has plenty of drag. Or just buy both.
  5. Your the best now start saving for their first cars. ;D Way to go Gramps

  8. I recieved both the Master and Spring Angling about 3 weeks ago.
  9. I use it for T Rigging in junk. Does not cast well for crankbaiting for which I like a bit of stretch in my line. 8 lb you may want to use on a spinning outfit with plastics. IMHO
  10. Where did you get it for $9? Usually $20 but at any price I think it is the best that I have used in my limited experience. At $9 my experience will broaden.
  11. 10 but don't tell my wife.
  12. Great fish and outstanding Yak setup.
  13. At times yes. Sometimes even need to pickup the dreaded spinning outfit.
  14. Muddy, I too have bad shoulders old football injurgies, played large but was small. I had my left one reconstructed. I cast right handed but at times that one flares up. You need to modify your casting style. I have learned to cast with both arms and at times I will cast underhand if needed. Downsize baits when needed. Keep the faith Bro doing what you love tends to help to manage the pain. Wish you well Bro, you beat worst in the past ie that weight loss.
  15. Yeah I know what you mean, just when the Jockeys are broken in I find new ones in the drawer. I learned to hide the broken in ones. Something about broken Jockeys and 12 hours on the water, it just goes together like cold and beer.
  16. I'll snoop around everything old gets whiskers, even frogs. You never know. Does it have to be Rosies or will a Legends do? Elaine probably decomissioned due to poor fit up. My wife tends to do tahat even though I swear cotton expands.

  19. Brutal, absolutely brutal.
  20. I also use a variety of reels Shimano, Daiwa, Abu Garcia Plueger and Quantum. I do prefer Shimano and Daiwa. As far as rods, I use St Croix, G Loomis, Daiwa, Shimano, Fenwick, Airrus and Dobyns. I prefer G Loomis, St Croix and Fenwick. Sometimes you just have to try a variety before you decide what suits your needs best.
  21. I also use clips for crankbaits and minnow baits. I never had a problem with them. With some lures they appear to enhance the action. IE side to side wobble.
  22. We lost a brother today to an industrial accident at our sister company. He was a young man of 40 with a family. Please ask the good lord to grant him salvation and to look over his family.
