  1. You have the right to crap your pants!!!!!!
  2. Thanks for sharing, back in the early 80's I spent many a day floating this river.
  3. I was able to pick one up NIB on Ebay a couple of months ago. It was at the original list price. These were sweet reels, cast like a dream. If you look hard enough they can be found.
  4. Courtesy of Firefihghtn15, I will be bringing a pound of fifteen-year-old Wisconsin cheddar. Missed one!
  5. LOL, Mike made a spelling and grammar error!
  6. My name is Leo and a lot of folks who know me think I am a nice guy so they call me Uncle Leo. They do not know me as well as they think. Ha Ha. I do have nieces and nephews also.
  7. Use a very sensitive rod and fluorocarbon to help to detect strikes. A Jig hit is like no other. Some times you may just feel weight or spongy feel. some times a little tick. It is important to learn the feel of a hit on the fall. A sensitive rod and fluorocarbon will help with this. Fluorocarbon is also more abrasive resistance. Always fish a jig where rocks are present. Of all the techniques I found Jig Fishing the hardest to master. There is not better technique to use when fishing ledges where rocks or pea gravel are present in my opinion.
  8. Fred (Old Cranky) and I will not be there until Sunday Afternoon. Tried to add a day in the beginnig or the end but the lodge had no openings.
  9. Zoom does tend to make exclusive colors. I have seen the same for Dick's and on occasion Bass Pro. Normally they have a tag on it that staes exclusive color. That color might rope me in also. Unfortunately I have bags of plastics that I think the Bass will like. They fooled me, but like Catt says you never know until you try.
  10. Thats what brothers are for, be thankful it was only $150. :
  11. Although Spinning Rods are the preferred gear for weightless plastics it can be done with a baitcasting rod with the right rod and larger heavier plastics. I remember your previous post but at no time did you describe the rod you were using. casting light weights is not purely based on line selection. Line, rod and reel all needs to be taken into consideration. Rod being the most important. One more thing to consider, do not expect great casting distance. You will not want the distance anyway as this type of fishing will require line watching at times to detect a strike. Many striles will happen on the fall. i perfer this method on a calm day over weed beds.
  12. And the Cubs got spanked.
  13. Guess I better bring heavy gear!
  14. They were discontinued. Only one year on the market. This is true. "We could only stock so many rods lines this year due to limited capital, slow economy", says Trey Kistler a.k.a. Kistlero on the company website forum. The prices are cut in half on remaining stock from certain places, with some useful sticks still remaining. http://www.kistlerrods.com/fishing-rod/plugins/forum/about6587.html I think this may have had more to do with the amount of rods they sold versus the quality of this rod. With this market you can hardly blame them, they must sell rods to survive. With the influx of $ 100 rods into the market this year all of good quality higher priced rods probably will not move.
  15. Hmmm, I was hoping to hear that it was significantly more sensitive, considering the MSRP's of the rods are $160, 190, and 230. I should clarify a bit. With lighter weights I do find the Argon more sensitive. With lighter weights I am more depended upon line watching and the sensitivity of the line. With fluorocarbon line and lighter weights I do find the Argon superior. With heavier weights it is comparable. Taken this into consideration I must say that the Argon is more sensitive. It is not always you would fish in wind and current, I like to use the lightest weight possible for any condition. One other thing if you like to throw a weightless Senko the Argon is also superior as it loads up well. If you can get one for half price I would jump on it.
  16. I have one and it balances nicely with a 7 oz. reel. It is pretty sensitive and has good backbone. I fished it from a 1/16 oz to a 3/8 oz weight and it casts well. No experience with any weights heavier. I may consider selling mine if you are interested. I replaced it with a Falcon Cara and it does not get much use any longer. It's sensitivity is comparable to a Crucial and Avid both of which I have also used.
  17. I was trying to avoid the crowd given the beautiful weather. It was a miserable morning on Heidecki. I imagine it was like that on all the cooling lakes with the 20+mph winds we had. Waves were white capping and my boat doesn't fit under the bridge so we were stuck fishing the south side. IT was worth it though. Get out there finally and wet some lines and burn up some of that old gas. Water temps were 54F +/- 1F on the south side of the tracks. Made it to Braidwood. Launched in driving rain at 7:00 Am blown off at 11:30. Did have a 2 and 3 lb'er to show for it though.
  18. I never had much luck for bass there except at first light working the Rip Rap. White Spinner Bait is the lure of choice. Also had some luck with a Jig. If I were you I would go to Braidwood.
  19. I am spooled up with H2O and so fair seems good. I just have not used it long enough to make a proper assessment.
  20. Someone will be lonely tonight.
  21. I gave up on braid also. Florocarbon does give you good sensitivity so I switched to that. RW have you tried YoSuri H2O?
  22. I had total re-constructive surgery on my left shoulder in 1985 and they also found a cyst. At that time that surgery was like an amputation. Recover took about 12 weeks and this arm is about one inch shorter but to date I have had no other problems. Spend the time with rehab and listen to the therapist. Maintain after that and you will be fine. You are young and will heal, I was 26 when I had mine done and I am sure the technology is much better today. Good Luck.
  23. I kept my elbow in shape all winter. And pulled at least 80 lbs of gear across ice with at times 1 foot of snow on top during the winter. Why am I still fat?
