hey guys. up until this point i have only used braid on one of my setups for thick weeds. it was 50lb moss green bps brand. i had it backed with mono and used a three foot flouro leader. i bought two spools this winter and i want to expand my use of it. i bought another 50lb spool in moss green and a hi vis yellow spool in 15lb that i want to use on my spinning reel. i switched and both spools are spiderwire. my question is this, how to you guys load it up on your line? do you all use backing on your setups, both bc and spinning? any specifics on how you guys do it would be appreciated. i also watched a vid of amart and he said he backs his flouro with braid which sounded odd to me. in it he said he gets another 20 yds on his cast with it and it also eliminated a lot of his backlashes. has anyone tried this application of it? thanks guys, curious to hear what you all do.

well i bought a 200yd spool of 17 pound flourocarbon and im gonna go get some braid tomorrow. im gonna spool a reel with each to try it. hopefully it works well and ill keep you posted. thanks

hey guys, ive fished mono for my line exclusively since ive started fishing. i usually use 12 lb test, it seems to work all around for the fishing i do. i did alot of fishing at a pond by me this year that is gridlocked with heavy weeds. i caught some great fish this year and lost some great fish this year. as a result i wanted to try fishing with braid. if im pitching 3/4oz jigs or brush hawgs with a slip sinker, what pound test would be best for fishing heavier cover?

charlie moores show is about as informative as watching the animal planet with no volume. with that said.....i love the guy. as much as i dont want to like his show sometimes i cant turn away. i think that is a really really cool story about you almost buying his boat. as a side note to the celtics bandwagon. i would like to inform you that up in the northeast there wasnt the bandwagon there is now for a simple reason. i ,like many other people i know, only had one way to make danny ainge and the celtics owner make the team better. dont buy retail products or tickets. i think after four years of watching aweful basketball on tv.....they got the point.

whats the deal with these, i saw them using them on a fishing show cant remember which one. do they have coffee inpregnated in the bait much like salt in other soft plastics?

im sure this has been talked about, but i couldnt find anything with the search for jig hooksets. this is my first year trying jigs and after reading aloooot of material over the past couple weeks, i tried fishing with a jig yesterday. it worked out really well, they were biting it constantly. the problem was everytime i went to set the hook the jig would pop out of their mouth. i know some people cut off the weed guard, so my question is, what does this do from a standpoint of hanging up the jig in weeds and timber? if anyone has any tricks that help with the hookset im all ears, thanks guys.

hey guys, i was down at bps this weekend and i picked up two new baitcast combos. they were 65 each. for anyone who went for the sale, its a bill dance quantum combo. i broke one of them out yesterday and it seemed really smooth and my casts were going pretty far. i was kind of shocked how well it seemed for the money. has anyone had any problems with these reels?

they all look the same to me so i was thinking about it, is there any way to visually tell whether a bass is male or female or a marker or something that will tip you off?
