  1. We've used Titleshot jigs for years with great success but don't care for the "shorty" version at all. The free swinging aspect of the shorty make it difficult to line up and penetrate the soft plastic trailer. Even the regular Titleshot is hard to hang a trailer on sometimes. We usually "pre-drill" the trailer with a round toothpick...facilitates getting the trailer onto the keeper yet doesn't greatly reduce the keeper's ability to hold the trailer.
  2. We fish primarily in rivers also and use the fluoro to braid set up more for the ability to break off when needed than for the invisibility factor. We use a longer than normal leader to start with so we can retie several times before needing to replace the leader.
  3. Freedom Tackle https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Freedom_Tackle_Hybrid_Football_Jig_Heads_2pk/descpage-FREER.html
  4. It's Bass Patrol, not Bass Control...beyond that, I concur totally. Rigged with a Rage craw is one of our favorite presentations. Don't be afraid to experiment with retrieve speed...sometimes faster is more effective than crawling...just remember to use a heavy enough weight to maintain bottom contact.
  5. Looks like a great sunfish imitator...I'm thinking swimjig with an amber, green flake/black rage tail craw for a trailer.
  6. Fat IKA...nobody we fish with uses these despite all the success we've had with them over the past ten years or so. Older son just won a small local tourney using it. Thanks again RoadWarrior for the tip.
  7. Couldn't find a comet on Siebert's website...
  8. Couldn't find Windex Multi Surface Cleaner as shown above but bought a Windex product that has vinegar in it and it worked very well...cleanest my screens have been since I bought them. Thanks for the tip.
  9. Up here in the north country, snagging isn't the only way to lose a bait...Northern Pike take more of our baits than snags do by quite a large margin,
  10. Some things are not supposed to be made common knowledge...just sayin
  11. About 40 miles is max for me except when I go fish with my grandson...80 miles but worth the time with him on the water. In the "Land of Ten Thousand Lakes" one needn't travel far to find good fishing for just about any freshwater species you'd care to pursue.
  12. Except emergencies or really good sale prices, I buy everything on line.
  13. Haven't been able to decide which would be of more benefit...Ultrex or new locator.
  14. Website says they are sold out...can't find anyone else selling these. Are they still being made?
  15. Not sure where to put this but quite certain it will get moved to the appropriate forum by someone. I have a good memory, it just doesn't last very long the saying goes and I can definitely relate. Some time back, I read about and/or watched a video about an unusual modification/use of rubber core sinkers and liked the idea enough to put rubber core sinkers on my "things to order before Spring" list. The problem is I can't for the life of me remember what the deal with the sinkers was. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
