  1. heres how my progress is so far. I have about $300 in it. that includes seats and pedastals that arent in pics. I still need to wire it and finish rear platform and then carpet and I will be done with inside. Then for the outside, I will use fasco's steelflex epoxy (the regular epoxy) with a blue pigment and do the outside of the boat.
  2. Well I wish I could help ya, but I have never fishied that lake. If I'm not mistaking, that lake has rock bluffs that are good to fish from. You might try to search youtube for Jimmy Houston shows or something. He has caught a lot of fish there.
  3. Either way, I'm just glad I got to watch Adrian Peterson and Sam Bradford play all their home games in person. Wow is about all I can say.
  4. Here is todays pics and the sketch. As for the layou, I plan on a platform the same height as the bench is now, from the bow to the first bench. Then a raised floor between the two benches. And a platform from stern to about a foot in front of rear bench. In the diagram, I have the batteries under the rear platform extension. I'm not certain on the livewell. I would love a permanent one, but I don't want it higher than the platform. Also, I have positioned everything where it is with weight balance in mind. As always, I would love to hear suggestions and opinions. Now for the color code: red lines = 2x2s red squares = 2x2 upright supports blue line = 2x4 laying flat(provides more area for lids to sit on) blue squares = 2x4 upright supports (provides support to a bigger area) I think everything else is explained in the diagram. Let me know what you all think.
  5. I finally got a boat, or should I say a project to fish from. I traded a 71 chevy truck for a 68 richline 14ft semi-v with a 1998 johnson 9.9 and a 40ft lb tm. Today I filled the boat full of water to check for leaks and found 3 rivets leaking and the seam where the gunwales meet the floor leaks in a bunch of spots. I plan on tightening up the rivets and the applying steelflex epoxy on the boat to solve the leaks at the seam. Here are pics when I brought it home and some more today. Also a rough sketch of how I plan to modify the boat.
  6. I was under the impression that the foam was only incase the boat capsized. Is this not correct?
  7. thats a smoking deal at harbor freight.
  8. sweet boat. what year is that boat? did you have any leaks around the seam of it? i modified one of your pics to show what seam im talking about. thanks
  9. . I live 5min from Cabelas and know the guys in the bargain cave, and visit it at least once a week to snag closeouts and liquidation items. hey natural, your location says norman,ok. where is this cabelas? lol. i wish we would get here.

  12. I wouldnt think there would be any problems. Here is a link to a guy in Okc, Ok that is selling the boat he won. http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/boa/861769506.html Pretty good deal.
  13. http://www.minnkotamotors.com/support/faq.asp?pg=general&pt=11 http://www.minnkotamotors.com/support/faq.asp?pg=general&pt=12 http://www.minnkotamotors.com/support/faq.asp?pg=general&pt=13 Thanks. Thats good info. Its been too long since algebra. I cant get the formula for speed to work.
  14. according to the twin trollerboats website, 36 lbs thrust is equal to 1 hp. that being said, i have seen people put 2 trolling motors on back and lock them pointing strait, and then use the trolling motor up front for more power and to steer with. if you get three motors that equal 180 lbs thrust, that should be close to the performance of your gas motor.
  15. nice boat and good price. i'd buy it. one thing though is i would think you could take your 14 ft v anywhere you could take this one, so i'm not sure about it being that much of an upgrade from that view. but still a good deal.
  16. check out this thread here http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1206322448 also check out www.tinboats.net and www.myjonboat.com
  17. another option if you wanted a glass boat is stratos. they have a 17 ft for bout the same price as the tracker.
  18. it depends on the transducer. it has to be a thru hull transducer, if not then mount it just like on your aluminum.
  19. wow i took it and missed 28 questions. i took a boating class with my drivers ed class some 20 yrs ago and aced it back then. what happened to my memory?
  20. from what i understand, the flat bottom is more stable with high decks and in general. v bottom is smoother ride in rough water.
  21. this one is sweet for a plastic boat, but it is pricey. http://www.sundolphinboats.com/oz/4/com/fish/pro/pro.html you can also buy this from cabelas. check out sun dolphins website, they have quite a few other options
  22. if its a good deal you could always buy it then have an another axle put under it if you felt it needed it.
  23. who are we kidding. in a few years you are gonna see all the pros fishing in mod jon boats with two tm on the back and a foot tm on the front. no more glass that hauls the mail. ;D see, alot of people are already ahead of the times and just dont know it.
