  1. Wow. Congrats. Now go catch another one.
  2. Actually he still does. Now he smells like fish & not skunk Good job bud
  3. Nice job. Nothing like catching a slew of healthy bass.
  4. The 4lbs was in 6' of water out in the middle of a flat about 40 yards off shore. When I first got the 6-8 in the boat I immediately thought that it had been spawning but not completely finished. However the more I look at the pic I think she might have been done. She was in about 3' of water on a point right at the edge of the flat where I caught the 4lbs bass. Both bass were caught using an *** Jaw Jack swimbait 5" in the Firetiger color. I usually use the Shad color but since the water was real murky I thought that the Firetiger would be a more visible profile. Seemed to work good because my dad didn't catch any while using the Shad color but when he switched to the Firetiger he boated 2 in about 20min. I was fishing them real slow letting it bump along the bottom.
  5. Holy crap man. Those are some pigs!!! Great job. Looking forward to seeing what the new design is.
  6. Very nice.
  7. Way to go. Nice fish.
  8. As a few of you know I went out to Lake Fork the 28th-30th last month & did quite well. On the 31st my dad & I decided to get away from the craziness of Lake Fork & went out to a small lake in Van Tx. Very relaxing day. We had the lake to ourself for the 3hrs we were out. We managed to put 7 fish in the boat with these 2 going for 4lbs & 6lbs 8oz. Man they tasted good....just kidding. We took pics & immediately released them & they swam away just fine to be caught another day.
  9. Very nice my friend.
  10. I HATE battling wind. With that said, some of my most productive days have been when it's super windy. 1. I always find a spot that is or should be productive & anchor down. I can't stress the importance of an anchor for me. My Bass Tracker is aluminum which makes it very easy for the wind to blow around & by using an anchor I'm able to concentrate on fishing instead of fighting for boat position all day. 2. Don't cast with the wind because your less likely to get bit. Don't cast directly into the wind because you'll probably get a backlash. Cast at a 45 degree angle into the wind. It brings your bait back to the boat with the natural current that the wind is creating, making it more realistic for the bass. 3. Use heavier baits. Sam suggested swimbaits & I couldn't agree with him more. It is my most productive windy weather bait. Spinnerbaits are also great windy weather baits.
  11. Nice job.
  12. 6lbs 2oz. Looks like your holding the bigger one out way further then the other. Never the less, nice fish.
  13. Absolutely. The femals in the northern end of the lake are already in full swing. We didn't really get a chance to do any sight fishing while we were there because the water in the northern end was so muddy. The main lake was still pretty clear but the majority of the big bass were still staging. Actually all the bass we caught were in 6'-8' of water actively feeding. You should be hitting it at just the right time. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with you. Good luck.
  14. Happy Easter.
  15. My fishing bud & I just got back from our annual Lake Fork Trip earlier this week & I thought I would share. First day was Sunday the 28th & it was kind of rough. The day before was 78-80 degrees with a slight breeze out of the west, but that night a cold front moved in & dropped the temps down quite a bit. The highest it got Sunday was maybe 62 & it was super windy out of the north. We managed to boat 7 bass with the largest being right at 4lbs. Day 2 was completely different. Blue bird skies & not a ripple on the water. We boated 10 bass that day with my bud catching the largest which went for 6lbs 4oz (didn't send a pic of that one). Huge mouth, real long, & post spawn. Here is a 3 1/2lbs that I caught that day. Day three, the last day, was super super windy out of the south but the warmest of the three days & we finally put together a solid pattern. Swimbaits fished on the hard bottoms of spawning flats. That was what finally produced the nicer ones. I caught the first one which went for 5lbs 10oz. My bud caught the 2nd & 3rd which went for 5lbs 6oz & 7lbs 8oz (big bass of the trip) I caught the last one of the morning which went for 6lbs 3oz. That last day really saved the trip for us. With the conditions changing every day I should be much happier but I was really hoping to break into the DD club. Oh well next time right In the end we ended up with three that went for 4lbs, a 5lbs 6oz, a 5lbs 10oz, a 6lbs 3oz, a 6lbs 4oz, & a 7lbs 8oz. Everything else was at least over 2lbs.
  16. Awesome. Tell her congrats.
  17. A slow & steady retrieve has produced the best for me in numbers & quality. However sometimes you need to do something different with them to get the fish to bite. Sometimes you may need to yo yo the bait by ripping it off the bottom then letting it fall back down. Other times you need to have it bulging the surface. Be carful with burning them because some of them start to roll when you reel them too fast. I've also found that having either a swimming senko or a lake fork live magic shad as the trailer has done wonders for me.
  18. Your shadow, in the last pic, looks like you could be "Ash" from Army of Darkness. Chainsaw for a right hand & a boomstick in the other. ;D Awesome post as well.
  19. I want 1....or 3. Very nice bait.
