  1. i hear ya Sam, using live bluegill is a rush and you can land some monsters.... its been about 4 or more years since i called the DG&IF people about using them so the rules may have changed... i'll still use them as well and have got my kids hooked on using them, love to see the excitement of them trying to hook a monster with a live bluegill.... Alfred
  2. i've always been a left handed on spinning and right on baitcast....i'm right handed... Alfred
  3. years ago when i called about using bluegill as bait i was told that you can't net and use them as bait, like you do with shad...no bait buckets full of small bluegill.... i was also told that you can use bulegill as bait but you have to catch them one at a time and that they count toward your bag limit if you are keeping bluegill... some of the largest bass I've caught has come from using live bluegill.... Alfred
  4. from the reading i've done it is not a good idea to have crappie and bass in the same pond, their reasoning is that the crappie eat the bass fingerlings. also i would agree that over population could be a cause as well...ya gotta keep some bass or you will have small bass... i think the ponds per year for bass is around 5 or 10lbs per acre, but i would look that up to make sure... hope this helps, Alfred
  5. Thanks guys....you all are awesome. Alfred
  6. I Love using a bluegill for bait..... I hook it through the lips using a 4/O or 5/O worm hook and fish it weightless around cover. In most states its leagal to use bluegills as long as it is caught with a hook and line and as long as they are not stored as bait. Alfred
  7. Thanks guys, its grerat to be back.......... Alfred
