    New Dog

My female chocolate lab wants to do the same thing. She's 2 years old and so very full of energy...good dog though. They are called retrievers for a reason ya know
  3. I've been in 2 hair raising trips . 1st time was on a backwater lake of the IL. River and a tornado came through. Talk about a surprise, IT was supposed to be a beautiful day, Freak Storm I reckon, We watched it pass us by about 1/2 mile. Scared the snot out of me. 2nd time was on the Mississippi River. My Grandparents had a cabin by Ft. Madison, IA and we were fishing a protected creek. When we came out the white caps were huge! Watched a bass boat running wide open literally flip over in front of us. No one was hurt thankfully, and thank god Gramps kept us close to the bank and running safely.
  4. Don't know if any of you guys are around my area, but there is going to be a tackle show in Elmwood on March 5-6.
  5. Illinois, huh ? You must work for Scaterpillar... just teasing you. I work at a Detroit Diesel distributor. Actually I work for Altorfer. Which is a Cat dealership.
  6. Paint that bad boy Caterpillar yellow, and that would be similar to the generators I wire at work. POWER IS EVERYTHING
  7. Not that it will do me much good, but count me in.
  8. If a fellow just wants to sit down and read, I suggest getting the book "The Best of B.A.S.S. Masters".
  9. Give it to my kids and keep on working or something like that.
  10. 1 jar of Mayo 1/2 lb Bacon (cooked and crumbled) A diced tomatoe Some shredded lettuce mix it all together and BAM! Cheap, easy, and great with ritz crackers
  11. There is more than an inch of ice on the lakes. A buddy and I ice fished Banner yesterday and we had 6 - 8 inches. I was just trying to let guys know to be weary when out there and look for bad spots on the lakes they fish. I wouldn't want this to happen to someone else.

  13. Please be careful out on the ICE guys and gals. http://www.pjstar.com/news/x1148223000/Teen-dies-after-falling-through-ice
  14. Safe to say it's been awhile since anyone has posted on this. Anyway, Has anyone been out ice fishing yet? plan on giving it a shot tomorrow. Thinking I may run down to Emiqoun and check the ice there this afternoon. Would really love to find the slab crappies there.
  15. Personally I'd buy the 500. Don't know if you deer hunt, but Mossberg offers a barrel that will convert the 500 to a muzzleloader. All you have to do is swap barrels and your all set.
  16. I can honestly say that I have never used any of your products. Due to the simple fact that I had never heard of them until I started visiting this site.
  17. Made it out for a little while yesterday. Went to a private lake my uncle has access to and did pretty well throwing T-Rigged Worms. Big fish of the day was a 5 lber with a bunch of 1-2 lbers. Anybody else make it out this weekend?
  18. "Mike Hart is a well known and was respected for his bass tournament successes in SoCal; fished approximately 100 team events, was in the money over 75% of the time and won over $190K and a few boats." Now I don't know about the rest of ya'll, but I'd make him payback all his winnings and boats plus taxes and penalties. Once a cheat, always a cheat regards-
  19. As other have stated, It depends on where I'm fishing at. My usual arsenal is a T-rigged worm, a crankbait, a scum frog, and a jerk bait. If I feel the need to change it up a bit I do, but most of the time these are the baits that produce for me.
  20. Well, Has anyone been doing any good lately? Been down to Banner Marsh a few times and a couple of private places. Not a whole lot of luck, but have caught several quality fish in deep water. If the good lord would make it stop raining, I'm going to attempt to get out this weekend.
  21. Bill - I know what you mean. went to pick up some Culprit Bluegill colored worms the other day and I can't find them anywhere. I contacted Culprit via e-mail and the gal that replied said that they take custom orders, but you have to order 144 bags at $4.19 a piece. I don't know about you, but my wife would kill me if I spent $600.00 on worms only.
  22. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but We have been hammering bass on buzzbaits and frogs for the last few weeks. And for those of you in the Peoria area, I hope you all are okay after the wicked storms that came through last night.
