oh I have been using jigs for quite a long time they were just not my go to bait and now that I am not just limited to shore fishing I wanted to find good jigs that i can rely on
hmm good question forgot how broard topic was
well I throw 1/2 or 3/4oz football jigs in 15'+ waters but norm on the lower end for weight
or i will throw lighter jigs into rocky areas so i guess what would you be throwing into rock bottoms
two part question
What kind of Jigs do you guys use?
and what set up do you use to throw em on?
always heard shorter rods are better for jigs but i never got to try it
is that true? Jig and Pig can realy get some monsters 8-)
I also wear a Pair of Oakley GAs Cans and they are amazing I will not wear anything other than oakleys with black indium lens
and yes these higher level sunglasses protect your eyes more from the rays besides just lookin amazin 8-)
would the AVS68MXF overlap too much with my PS66MLF2 or what differences would you use these this two for?
I do agree with the reel choices tho I would probly go with the symetre as the newer stradic dont seem as solid as the older white ones and I have been using Spiderwire and love the stuff but thats for another discussion
well have you looked at shabbona its very close I havnt fished for pike in it but i am going to try this year otherwise its a bit hard find any good lakes for northerns
I am in the stage of updating my gear
so far what I am keeping / have Atm is..
6'6" Ml St. Croix premier with 2500 sahara
6'6" glass St. Croix M with Johnny Morris 4000(is a bit heavy and is a older rod)
7' MH Convergence with a Curado 200D
My question is what should I look into buying next I was thinking of getting a nice 7' M or MH spinning rod for an all purpose use / all the heavier stuff I could not throw on my ML or should I start getting more techinque spec. with my rods? and what techinque rods should I get if I go with this route
thanks for any ideas or comments
thanks dmac and south fla
i have some older st. croix and the premier
the premier is my favorite set up by far it is perfect and of course its not highest end of my gear but it just produces fish i like St. Croix a lot and the lifetime warranty is a HUGE plus
*** has the 7' med for only 130 bucks too so i think its a steal i have looked at the mojo bass just as a side note split grip is nice idk if goin up to a legend tournament is worth the extra money?? also would the 7' med hev or the med avids be better other all for a bc
with the start of the new season I want to get some new gear
last year at the end of the season i picked up a curado 200D and the rod its on is alright but I want to get it upgraded any ideas?
I was thinking of a St. Croix Avid 7' med or something but any ideas are greatly appreciated thanks
was a one weekend kind of thing and I thinking now it might of only been at my local GM to get rid of some older products and make room for the new stuff

I understand wat ur sayin and why ur sayin it but You put your mind there not him
alrite I have lost a few cranks and a buddy loses his xraps dew to rocks and snags and well be fishing jigs worms and smaller swimbaits and dont want to lose them all when I am out there rely can tick ya off!! but I believe I get "more" bites?? I question this but when I bounce them off the rocks a little bit so I am thinking about putting on braid on my baitcaster
If those pike and musky keep taken your baits then just throw on a leader and you will just have to land a few great fun if you do
but I want to pick up a few seems like good price and what store did you pick them up at micro ???
I have a 7'MH fast rod with a 200dhsv curado and was woundering if I put 50# braid for frogs and such would it still work for worms and smaller swimbaits and all around jigs and such or is braid only for frogin mainly??
Why?
Isn't discussion the whole point of internet forums?
There's plenty of other posts to click on if one doesn't like the subject matter...
I second that
thats the point of the site is for discussion
yes thats what I have wounder about I guess some ppl get a self confindence jump when they know they are fishing with the "best" lure
I think it all depends how you fish and when you decided to fish them, all lures are that way
