you start punching through heavy slop and you will be glad you have a "heavy". Learn how to punch, it is one of the funnest ways to fish for me and this time of year it may be the only way to get to the big ones in some waters.
Roadwarrior post was well done. My post may be a bit misleading. After I work them on the bottom and am ready for another cast, I will reel the ika in the rest of the way a get ready for another cast. Somedays the bass will actually hit the ika as I reel them back to the boat rather fast.
Very good frogs, I used them for years. I have most of my success with black or darker colors. I have since switched to Booyah Pad Crasher. They work just as well, but are a lot more durable and less money. I am getting 2 to 3 times the life out of the booyahs compares to the spros. Good luck froggin!!!!!
One of my fishing partner rarely out fishes me, but when he does it is usually because I am stubbornly hanging on to my straight braid, while he has a fluoro leader tied to his identical bait. Sometimes it does make a difference, I'm confienced of that.
I will try top water dispite the depth of the water. Granted shallow waters may be more productive in general, but I have caught bass in deep waters with no sign of surface activity many times.
