  1. I usually fish G.Loomis, but I do have a couple Cabelas XML rods that are fine, pretty reasonably price and seems to be on sale frequently.
  2. I gotta have both. I fish a variety of ways and can't imagine using just one or the other exclusively.
  3. Ya I hate it when I gut hook a big fish, but then remember all fish caught and release will die. (eventually)
  4. SORRY- I did look at the Senko FAQ but didn't see anything readily apparent on the 7 inch senko and little came up on a search. I just didn't have the time to go through all the FAQ to try to find info specific to the 7 inch
  5. good info, thanks
  6. I just tried the 12# test out yesterday, fished a 1/8 oz grub most of the day and so far I really am impressed. No problem with the double polmar (nanofil)knot, little if any line memory, great sensitivity, no spooling problems that some say they experienced. Fished most of the day in stiff wind and had zero wind knots. Was using light spinning tackle, but casting distance was not as impressive as I expected. The only thing I was concerned about was the white color of the line and unlike braid it wouldn't darken with magic marker. It was only my initial experience and it was pretty limited. I will of course learn more as I keep fishing it, but I will keep using it and am glad I tried it out.
  7. Caught the best fish of the day on a wacky 7" senko, but was wondering how others have found success fishing them. Hook size, weight or weightless etc.
  8. Berkley 7" power worm curly tail
  9. Good reel for the money, you should be happy with it.
  10. Nice fish, must have been a fun fight.

    Niceeeeee
  12. Distracted by a boat that set up right on top of us(only us and them on the whole lake)My buddy and I both were fishing wacky worm in deep hole, in 100 + heat. As the J@ck@ss finally left I noticed my line tightening, soon followed by partners line. After we both set our hook I reeled in a bass with another wacky worm in it's mouth. Ya the line led to my partners pole.THE SAME FISH AT THE SAME TIME, never imagined it.
  13. What a great catch. Thanks for releasing her back to the river.
  14. Zooms Fat Albert Twin Tails
  15. Good durable little bait. I swim mine on a 1/32 to 1/8 oz. jighead
  16. For those who have fishing both, how do they compare with each other. Core of course being much lighter, Calais probably smoother. What else?????
  17. I'm glad somebody mention the GLX844c It's got to be one of the best, if not the best jig rod.
  18. Not my experience with Berkley "lip grip" scales. I took mine back, very inaccurate
  19. Let the fish tell you. We went out last week had a slow day until we started dead sticking. Caught all our big fish that way. NOT the most exciting way to fish, but if that's what the big ones want I'll give it to them.
  20. Well I remember reading my post and other post after mine on that thread so maybe just a TWILIGHT ZONE experience.
  21. I responded to a question about fishing scales the other day. I had a bad experience with a BERKLEY scale and responded. My post was deleted. What goes, I was respectful and told the truth. why were my comments deleted?????, will this post be deleted????? Are there rules I'm not aware of?????
  22. I use barbless on soft plastics. I loss a few, but for me the barbless does far less damage to the fish, so it's worth it for me. I have lost some nice fish on the jump though.
  23. Zooms Fat Albert grubs, Fat Albert twin tails for jig trailers, good old trick worms, brush hogs. All GREAT baits. I just bought some "swimmin super fluke houdini" to try out. Glad Zoom is around.
